  • @2.38 - james woods just asked you if that gave you wood

    happy birthday john carpenter!

  • Well,I saw The Ward for the first time tonight, and I have to say,it wasn't bad. Sure,it wasn't Carpenter's best(that is still The Thing),but it was well-acted,had good atmosphere, had a good number of scares, good makeup, the main character, like many great Carpenter characters, was likable, and still didn't take any crap, and it had some great twists and turns.Overall, better than Memoirs,Village of the Damned,Ghosts of Mars, and Prince of Darkness.

  • Excellent tribute. One of my most favorite filmmakers. I've seen every film he's made except for his older TV films. The only ones I don't like are "Dark Star" (too trippy) and "Ghosts of Mars." Otherwise, I enjoy all the others. "The Fog," "Halloween," and "Vampires" are my Top 3 favorite Carpenter flicks.

  • I just Favorited this like five days ago but I have watched it numerous times I love this video montage! No joke prob the best editing ive ever seen on youtube. The music went with all the scenes perfectly, you put in all the right clips at the right times. Nothing else to say what a perfect video you made and to keep it up!

  • @ghostface320 thanks!

  • HELL F*CKING YEAH!!!!!

  • Carpenter is GOD!

  • This video makes me want to see every single john carpenter film ever made!

  • I think John Carpenter's love of explosions may rival Michael Bay's. Whoa, never thought I'd just Bay and Carpenter's names in the same sentence.

  • Wow, when I saw the title, I was hoping this video would be at least worth watching. And finally, it is terrific. Amazing work, despite of the bad quality of a few shots. I'll add this into my playlist of the best fanmade music video ;)

  • John Carpenter was fantastic through the late 70s and THROUGHOUT THE 80S...and even pretty good in the 90s...I FUCKING LOVE VAMPIRES...but it seems he works best with a small budget...heh. I dunno he is definitely an old school director...a lot of his movies are influenced by old westerns and such and maybe the younger audiences just couldn't appreciate it...though i'm 26 so I find that silly...but...honestly his movies after 'Vampires' have been kind of poor but I think its budget to be honest

  • It has been a year since I first watched this video.Still as effective as ever. Carpenter films are always entertaining.Whether the film is dark or campy,I still find it entertaining. That is why I like John Carpenter so much. His movies are all about entertainment. I for one can be happy to say I am a Carpenter fan,I have seen 15 of his movies, enjoyed them all,and can't wait for The Ward to be released in the US later this year.

  • @NeoConnor1 Thanks! Can't wait for The Ward either. Wish there was a way to edit into Youtube videos so I could squeeze The Ward in there.

  • very good! good work!

  • Excellent tribute, fragments of JC movies that I dind't see in years (catching dust on my dvd shelves), making me want to watch ém all in one row. well done, very cool!

  • Where are the great Horror movie makers like Ridley Scott (Alien) Alien was more scary than any movie John Carp made!

  • @kimdayne now Ridley Scott is a "horror movie maker"... so tell me other horror movies he made. BTW, I like Alien but 'The Thing' is on a whole other level in my opinion.

  • @raphadpm Scott is not a horror movie maker , just a good Director do you know any free streaming sites with good horror and Sci fi?

  • @kimdayne no, sorry buddy.

  • @raphadpm i like Ridley alot. John is however better for me. But my fav film is Blade Runner anyways.

  • Call me plissken

  • after holloween downhill from there

  • @kimdayne NO FUCKING WAY

  • @snakeeater1977 Halloween was craftily done, The thing was very good as well, the concept of They Live was promising but the acting was terrible and Roddy Piper didn't help the cause. He's lost his touch, and in interviews seems deflated and not interested in creating great works of art, Ala Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, etc

  • yes u r a fucking machine, how did you do this raph

  • @steelfukksw hahaha thanks man

  • That was awesome!! Carpenter is the best. Nice edit.

  • john carpenter did Big Trouble in little cina?

  • @Guessnought yes he did

  • Very well done montage.

  • Fantastic editting job. One of the best on youtube. What capped it off was the starman music at the end. Love all of Carpenter and Ennio Morricone's music and riffs- Particularly "The Thing" and "stake and burn" from Vampires

  • Watched "Memoirs......" today. It was pretty good. Chevy and Sam Neill were great. Not my favorite, but not too shabby.

  • That was an awesome tribute!

  • BEST.VIDEO.EVER.

  • You know what I want to see? A tribute to the Apocalypse Trilogy. Just a tribute to The Thing,Prince of Darkness, and In the Mouth of Madness. That would be awesome.

Still love this video. Awesome Job.

  • The best tribute to Carpenter that I have ever seen!!!

  • great

  • Watched In the Mouth of Madness and that was incredible! A terrific horror film from the master! Love the 'Apocalypse Trilogy!'

  • Saw both Village of the Damned and Prince of Darkness yesterday. Like them both, but Prince of Darkness was out there. Not bad, just really different.

  • i love john carpenter he is the best director that i know !!!!

  • I came to chew bubble gum and kik ass and I ran out out of bubble gum

  • Just saw Vampires and loved it. Carpenter is just not capable of disappointing me.

  • DANG this montage rocks! Hell yeah for "Vampires" being included in there too! 8D

One question though, what movie/or which was 1:18 with the thing busting through the door, and the monster after that from? I'm very curious!

  • @IsabellasRevenge Thanks a lot! That's from 'Pro-Life', one of John Carpenter's episodes for the tv series 'Masters of Horror'.

  • Did you get the clips from youtube or did you find a way to snag them from other sources?

  • @DontFearTheReaper1 I edited this from the entire films.

  • Fucking AMAZING! You should work in movies as an editor, man!

  • Great video. I'm a huge John Carpenter fan.

  • the bank scene is the best

  • Great tribute! Really captures the best of his films.

  • Love it.. Great job.

  • Hi guys. Changed my account name to NeoConnor1 from NeoConnor.

    Still,love this video.Great job!

  • John Carpenter is God

  • he filmz r 2 gory

  • I watched The Fog last week. Great film, and I enjoyed it more than Halloween.

  • Wow, you really did an unreal edit job on this. This was fantastic to watch and is now in my favorites. You have a keen eye for cinematography and I especially enjoyed the section where you compared similar camera work from different movies. 5 Stars!

  • Thank you very much!

  • I finally saw Halloween and I really like it. It was smart, unlike a lot of crappy horror films today. I still think The Thing is my favorite horror film from Carpenter, but Halloween was still very good.

  • Watched They Live and loved it. Still waiting to watch Halloween, though.

  • Saw Christine and Ghosts of Mars last weekend.I enjoyed them both. Christine was thrilling and Ghosts of Mars is just campy fun. Seriously, why did everyone hate it?

Anyway,Carpenter hasn't disappointed me yet. Can't wait to watch They Live! and Halloween.

  • brilliant!

  • Carpenter is easily one of my favorite filmmakers, despite only seeing five of his films. However, each of those films have never disappointed me and I love them all.

By the way,the ones I've seen are both "Escapes",Starman,Big Trouble in Little China, and my favorite,The Thing.

  • excellent work

  • You know i really dont think its possible to pick a favorite John Carpenter film. There are too many and they are all so great. But i can say which ones I'm likely to watch the most; Big Trouble in Little China, Escape From New York, Escape From L.A., The Thing, They Live, Vampires, lets just say the list is long. It really doesnt end there. But he is an amazing director. But has anyone noticed that probably his number one actor is Kurt Russel? They work wonders together!

  • excelent

  • I'm curious, what's your favourite Carpenter film?

  • The Thing and yours? Btw, thanks for the kind words on your last comment.

  • My favourite is "Big trouble in little China"

"the Thing" and "Escape from New York" come afterwards.

  • what was the movie at 2:55 ?????

  • Big Trouble in Little China

  • This must be one of the best Youtube tribute videos I've ever seen. AWSOME! i love Carpenter movies, he's one if not my favourite director.

  • would you believe me if i said the most scariest part of all that gore and disfigurement and killing was when the gang member from AoP 13 shot the little girl?

  • I agree.

  • fucking epic! 5 stars!

  • is that Christopher Rich at 0:35

  • No, that's Roddy Piper

  • oh yeah? Cool!! I haven't seen him much but liked it when he and stone cold kicked Carlitto's ass on the piper pit....

then stone cold gave him the stuner.

  • nice video!

  • Awesome! Perfect Montage of video & audio!

"I Have Come Here to Chew Bubble-Gum and Kick Ass... and I'm All Out of Bubble-Gum!"

  • EXCELLENT!! The Master would approve!

  • Thanks!
