@orebauad Thanks for the question. The name of the band is Old School Freight Train, they are good friends of ours from Richmond, VA. The song is "Run" from the same titled album. They have since gone their separate ways, with each member doing some great work. Be sure to check them out.
My body feels less inclined to set the heel down the faster I run. Is the action of the heel touching after the forefoot a necessary piece of the 100 Up form, or is it based on comfort? Thank you, NaturalRunningStore!
@DrMarkMcGuire Great question. I would suggest it is totally based on comfort. Your experience of less heel contact as your speed progresses seems to be pretty consistent with other data and the experience of other athletes. Great question and keep them coming!-Patton
@smithforthphd Great question. I would think about the 100 Up like a way of over emphasizing the systems we use when we run. When you are running you knees will generally not come up as high, especially at a moderate pace. However, the lesson here it to think about picking up your feet vs pushing off of the ground. Keep us posted if you have any questions at all.
What is the song on this video? Shazam can't find it. I google the lyrics. Nothing. I like it though, let's get that band some recognition.
