Shame after all these years, the Music rights are still too damned expensive for them to release on DVD. I bought the DVDs when they came out a few yrs ago. Loved seeing the show, really missed the original music and the parts they left out.
@joeyheadset SCUM OF THE EARTH which has the husband of groupie Pamela Miller, PAMELA DEA BARRES author of the book IM WITH THE BAND CONFESSIONS OF A GROUPIE!!!
I was wondering if anyone knows where I can buy all of the WKRP episodes with the original music. Its my favourite show - I'm only sorry I didn't tape them when I had the chance. - the new version with the altered music just isn't the same.
@wjl1970 Third parties or if you can find a collector. I got a sydication set off of ioffer two years back but finding the unedited original un cut versions is like looking for the Holy Grail.
I love hypocrites who live the american capitalist dream to the fullest, yet support a marxist, and the regular joe gets fucked so these rich self hating bitches can pat themselves on the back. Bash all the fuck you want, but it's fucking true, but of course brainwashed bias asswipes don't give a shit about that.
Straight On You by HEART. I remember this when it came out. We (The Boyzz) were on tour in Peoria when i watched this with gil. We ran to dirt's room who was doing a phone interview with some cat from Japan. He was giving me the "look" as run to the TV and say 'watch this". haha
By the way, search on you tube for "The Boyzz from Illinoizz" Their live show from the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland with Meatloaf, Mick Ronson and Karla Devito is on you tube :) I recommend the song Destined to Die. Meatloaf introduces the band and it is a real winner :)
The Boyzz were a legendary Chicago band that was signed to Epic Records. They released an album titled "Too Wild To Tame" and the title track was used in this episode. The Boyzz opened shows for Aerosmith, Rush, Judas Priest, Triumph, Cheap Trick, and Reo Speedwagon over the course of 5 years, between 1975 and 1980. Their manager John Poulos of the legendary Buckinhams past away in 1980 and the band broke up. Their second album was never released. This song is in the R&R hall of fame.
the original i remember as a kid I didnt see the full thing at first. As you see the FULL EPISODE (on the officially released first season dvd) you will see the album cover (orange) of "The Boys" that is being carried around the offices, or maybe it is the "Bad Boys" album cover. but what band is called "Too wild to tame...The boys."? I have never heard of. If this comes back on in syndication, I hope to videotape it. you should see the episode in full, it is HILARIOUS!!! it is $50.00 ONLY!
@TEMPmichaelhansen I have all the original episodes on VHS. They are indeed hilarious. The first song in the contest clip is "Too Wild To Tame" by the band "The Boyzz".
but who are the "Boyzz"? never heard of them. are they on wikipedia? fully thing you should see the edited dvd's where they show the album cover but not...
This happened to me when I was working a morning show back in the 90s, the fugger got the exact songs right in a row on the first call!

@wjl1970 You can't buy the original unaltered episodes because of copyright restrictions; that's why they were altered for the DVDs. Sorry.
