I did sort of the same thing, only difference was that I was in 3rd on a sweeper, lost the front end, and then slammed the ground on my side, Result: 8 rib fractures and a collapsed lung courtesy of the rib that went thru it.

you just got to practice. keep riding the same corner and you will cut a line. ride in fast, lean in the bike will fit into the rut. then power out. dont be affriad to fall off. it doesnt hurt on a slow corner like that ;)
