This map was my favourite when I was 6 years little girl. I don't know why. Memories.. Omg I really have to play UT99 tomorrow with my 20 year old brothers!! (like last weekend ;))
So glad I found this song here today. Still remember that I played the game on and on just because of the music. My childhood memories, all coming back! Thank you for uploading it!
@xan1242 I'm betting some of these songs are just unused songs, but Mission Pack may refer to this - originally UT was only going to be an expansion that adds more multiplayer maps to Unreal, but eventually it was fleshed out into an entire standalone game
I have set up online servers as well as a STEAM GROUP to set up matches for Unreal Tournament 1999, 2004, and 3. My User Name: BigSpeck - Steam Group Name: Speck's Unreal /V/idya. Add me on your friends list,So I can contact you when I set up a few matches. You don't need the steam version to play , but having steam makes it easier to know when a match is up.

After listening to this track again after so many years, I'm reinstalling it. I hope there's still a community. Thank you Steam for allowing me to revisit my childhood classics!
Brandon sure has some magic talent, how he can predict stuff we love. I mean, we have a beautiful part at 0:41 and another beauty at 1:45. Then, suddenly, we've got an incredible 2 in 1 at 2:13. I also love the calm tone, it's like Brandon wanted to give us a message: "Calm down, it will be an easy encounter, you sure will dominate the map". This man just made my experience with Deus Ex, Jazz Jackrabbit and of course Unreal Tournament 1999 the best things in my life.
How did it go from something this awesome playing from the very start of the match and all the way through, to 5 seconds of music when you score a frag? UT3 blows.
UT99 is the perfect illustration for just how important music is in enhancing the experience. Some of the best times I've had gaming were in this game, and the music only made it that much more memorable.
Its a shame the new unreal tournaments, have all these crappy gamemodes, and crappy cars and stuff. unreal Tournament is about person vs person either 1 v 1 og Team vs team, cars and stuff dont belong.
UT 99 and Quake 3 best multiplayer fps games. New Ut's are retarded especially Ut 2003 and 2004. They just don't make games as they used to. To many call of duty's these days :(.
@DeathPenguin1000 ive solved ;] send me on PM your mail and i will send u one exe file to put in ut/sys folder n run just like in old days, even better with new D3D drivers ;]
not only is this song my second favorite (Cannonade being the first) in UT, I also love the map (Tomb of Sesmar, DOM) this is played on. UT FTW 4ever!
UT99 set the standard for music in an FPS. Ever since, there haven't been many FPS/TPS to incorporate music into its online multiplayer... something very important IMO.
@Magnetic1406 that does not mean that is all of folks who are true fans of that game... i know a tons of that folks but seems none of them dont wach those clips :p i can invade them here haha =]
Its not that you "listen" to the music. But it definitely adds the the ambiance of everything. I know when I play Gears online, I have my Gears soundtrack running in the background, and I do the same when I play Halo online, I keep their soundtracks playing because it adds to the overall experience, engrossing me more in the universe, and the music is just awsome.
I'm not sitting there listening to it, but it enhances the experience IMHO. Maybe not for you, but for me it does.
@Magnetic1406: because sounds play a huge role in multiplayer now, so we cant just be adding music if it jeopardizes that element but it can be used in interesting ways, however a looping soundtrack? not so sure ...
@darkInferno360 It just adds to the atmosphere. I don't know about you, but atmosphere is important in video games to you. The Unreal Soundtrack just got you bumped, each track so welly complimented the feel of the environment. Like I said earlier, I listen to Gears music when I play Gears MP and Halo music when I play Halo MP because that atmospheric feel just gets me pumped and makes the experience more enjoyable.
@Magnetic1406: yes it adds to atmosphere, i agree but not all games could handle having looping soundtrack in MP, think of an fps where youre alone against other players, you move slowly and listen out for sound cues, footsteps for example wouldnt work so well with a looping soundtrack.. atleast not for some players, so yes i believe it is atmospheric, but it depends on the genre and pace of game, i think it'd also need a decent music system to determine when and how the music is played ...
@darkInferno360 Ok, so playing Call of Duty Search and Destroy types, sure you don't want music in the background messing things up like those sound cues. But non-stop action games like Halo or Gears of War, having looping soundtracks, or even dynamic changing soundtracks during multiplayer wouldn't hurt the experience at all, it would only help it.
@Magnetic1406: am not against it, i think it would have to be very dynamic, i'm an indie gamedev and i wouldnt want to give up atmosphere for music, tho i know music is its own atmosphere, i'll code a system to dynamically change it based on the gamemode, gamepace and location in map, it can work, call of duty4 tried to squeeze in music at game start and when time was running low, they even have a soft track that plays when your pace is slow, idk who noticed it though bt tht just means it works
There was one map I don't remember if it was user-made or on a download pack, but it was an awesome CTF map called either Cathatrine's something-or-other or just Catharine, but the music on that map was epic! If anyone's got the ability please put it up!
Back in UT 99 music really was designed to match the map. I remember this track playing in the egyptian style domination map Tomb of Sesmar.
It's an awesome track to listen to when you are running through the ancient halls, desecrating them with your blood, sweat and rocket launcher barrel. Listen in close as you are dripping from sweat already while trying to fight back the seemingly unstoppable skaarj force.
i liked Goldeneye's OST better
