  • im thinking Eddie isn't flipping out to bad.... do a quick search of other artists hes sat in with....

  • "Don't it feel like something from a dream

Yeah I've never known nothing quite like this

Don't it feel like tonight might never be again."

So Good it hurts! E V shines a.p.u.

  • I love the way Eddie sings his "own" way, and yet manages to pay homage to Petty at the same time. These guys both fucking rock.

  • THIS is what music is all about...generations colliding and making beautiful music out of it...just brilliant

  • Eddies voice is perfect for this song...

  • Eddie is so cute without a beard!

  • I was there too !

it was sooooo funny Eddie didn't know the song ...lol!

...he was laughing so much at himself as well :)

  • wow..kool performance...idk if petty realized eddie didnt know the bridge..lol...eddie was better when he was younger...dont smoke cigs!! kills ur rock career.

  • @beefmcc pj sells more than petty nowadays..plus their current touring shows are fucking incendiary....no?..be my guest...listen a 2002 bootleg and a 2010 bottleg...period

  • with out the beard he looks so young lol

  • at 1.10 he is soo beautiful :)

  • That gives me chills...Vedder has gotten better with age and it goes without saying how incredible Petty and the Breakers are

  • Absolutely incredible. Petty and Vedder FTW!

  • Eddie Vedder + Tom Petty=Epic Rock n' Roll awesomeness

  • i was there!

  • chheeeeveeeereeeeee

  • I do not know if it's on youtube or not, but Eddie also does an AMAZING job with his favorite band THE WHO. He sings A great tune from Quad, I'M ONE at the Royal Albert Hall. I'm not sure Roger ever sounded better? How cool it must be for him to sing with REM, Petty, The Who, etc! Closest I'll ever get is the shower!

  • I agree. I've been bouncing around today watching Eddie guest with all these bands. Guesting on a song you haven't song 20 million times really exposes your weakness as a singer, and Eddie ain't got any ...

  • It took so long for this video to load!!! You know what the hardest part is? I bet you do!

  • I love how when Eddie isn't signing he's just observing these guys play, I think he's in a bit of disbelief that he's actaully playing with Petty

Love this vidoe...probably because I'm a fan of Petty and Vedder

  • @SilentEcho2 totally fuckin agreed man......He's havin Petty fits :P

  • YES YES THIS ROCKS!!!

  • Wow eddy rocks this song, sounds a lot like tom here too.

  • LOVE :) Eddie & Tom..

  • This was just on the radio on my car, and it made me think of how iconic of a singer Tom Petty was in the '80s and how record labels found a lot of singers that sound like him, kinda like how Eddie Vedder was in the '90s.

To my shock, this was one of the top matches when I looked on YouTube. :)

    Awesome performance too...

  • Eddy is awsome and that song sounds just as good comming from his voice as it does tom petty. I'm not taking anything away from tom but eddy rocked that song out.

  • Should have just kept the camera pointed at the screen beside you. Everyone would have thought it was a ten club bootleg or something.

I love playing this song, fun to play on the guitar, and fun to sing.

  • Nice Video. I like how Eddie has made so many connections with the classic bands. He respects the great music and great bands that we so much miss these days.

  • I saw Pearl Jam open for Tom and the Heartbreakers @ Summerfest in Milwaukee on June 30, 2006 and it was AMAZING! Both band put on AWESOME shows!

  • This is great. Thanks for sharing it.

  • This is amazing. I love Eddie Vedder - he has a such a distinctive voice.

I also know he is a big Liberal, but he was best friends with Joey Ramone, who talked some sense into him when Eddie started trashing a mannequin on stage that he called "G. W. Bush." Joey told him to cut the crap, and that he was "alienating people."

Eddie - to his credit, did stop the childish antics.

As to this video, I love Tom Petty and I love Pearl Jam. Just a match made in heaven.

  • didnt joey ramone die in 2001?

  • yes and bush was elected in 2000

  • Johnny was the rightwing asshole in the Ramones.

Joey was a diehard liberal, god bless him.

  • and I can imagine them on stage during this playing and singing along

  • this is fantastic

  • this is some awesome stuff! petty and f'in vedder, honestly what could POSSIBLY be better than this?

  • quality

  • where was this? i think i was there, was it milwaukee....summerfest?

  • @pack7599 It was in Washington State at the Whiteriver Ampitheater. I was right next to my friend who recorded this. Love all the positive comments!

  • Vedder sounds really good here. I was trying to get the double ticket here for this summer at MSG. Tom Petty June 17 and Pearl Jam June 24-25 unfortunatly Pearl sold out but i still get to see PEtty.

  • Two of my favorite all time singers singing one of my favorite songs. What could bebetter.I love both Tom and Eddie.Tom writes songs that are so pure and Eddie has an amazing voice.

  • this is soo sick!

  • this is soo sick!

  • Oh man this is killer!

  • fantastic!

  • ed has his vintage look here...ahh..

  • ed has his vintage look here...ahh..

  • I saw this in the 4 hour long Petty doc and loved it. Great performance tonight...as always. Can't wait for the summer tour.

  • wish he came to norway :(

  • wish he came to norway :(

  • Waiting for Feb 3 is the Hardest Part! PLAY IT LONG AND LOUD TP&HBs!

  • Two great musicians....great song; all heart and soul from the musicians.....thanks for posting.....I hope you enjoyed this performance!!!

  • he's the man

  • Fuckn Rock On MAn,..Yeah!!!

  • Vedder, great voice, perfect for this song, one of the few times when a guest singer actually sounds awesome.

  • the man can cover some songs THE VEDDERMAN

  • I like tom petty, but eddie vedder singing this song drives me crazy with delight.

  • it sucks iv not heard of tom petty doing concerts in britain

    :(

  • eddie does a great tom petty voice

  • Pretty cool little bootleg :-)! I was pleasantly surprised by how EV's voice fits in on this, and was diggin' the vintage instruments, too --- for some reason, Tom's using what appears to be an old Fender Villager (instead of a Ric 360/12), and Mike's got what looks like a Fender Esquire, which is what Springsteen has used for time-out-of-mind.

  • This would be cool without Eddie Vedder.

  • Amazing combination. I just feel bad for Eddie during the lyricless parts. He just kind of sits there, air strumming with nothing to do.

  • hahaha...vintage vedderism!

  • eddie guests on the best songs with the best bands.

  • fuck off

  • i was there, kickass concert

  • me too it killed

  • this song kicks balls. sweetness.

  • eddies HOTTTTTTT

  • Yes, he is...Very HOT!!

  • that was sweet. The sound wasn't the best, still good tho. I luved TP stuff when I was a kid. Thanx 4 posting.

  • I will see Eddie in a week :P

  • Eddie is the best frontman going !

  • oh yeah i sat way in the back at the top of the hill on the grass, but i was there that night and it was the best concert ever! Not a bad recording

  • I travelled from the East coast to See T.P. that night in Wash. Seeing Eddie and Stevie were definitely nice bonuses!!!

  • Wow, this was really good, thanks! One of my favorite Petty songs.

  • Great stuff!

  • This was a great show. The best part was during American Girl when Eddie Vedder "fucked up" ha ha.

  • For those who've seen a concert at this venue, how is the seating on the 200 level? Is it right over top of the 100 level, or really far back? Thanks for any replies!!

  • that's the best

  • Man, Eddie Vedder always rocks!

  • I heard Pearl Jam cover "Won't Back Down" (forgive me if that is the wrong song title) and he was fantastic.

  • great song, they sound so good together!

  • Awesome, thanks for posting!!!

    It's Eddie VEDDER, though.

  • it really was

yeas i was there...sad part was i was in the back row
