  • ¿Puede por favor escribir el nombre de la Orquesta y del Director?

Can you please write Orchestra name and Director name?. Sorry for my english. Spanish is my idiom. I am from Argentina.

  • Kaunista musiikkia!

  • This is a great performance. Who's conducting ?

  • @berrik500 I'm pretty certain it's Osmo Vänskä and Lahti SO.

  • Return from where? It must be a bloody scary place judging by the speed that dog-team of his is moving at! It sounds like the entire Red Army is after him, which would explain the triumphant ending. He suddenly turns and rips their heads off. You can't mess about with Finns.

  • @MichaelDPorter death actually... so you're pretty spot on.

  • this is a killer (to play) !!!

  • Very nice piece! Sibelius is great! It was a pleasant surprise when I unexpectedly came across his birth house on a recent trip to Finland. :)

By the way, I can only recommend to everybody seeing this to read the Kalevala, which gave this piece its name. It's a wonderful read!

  • @RadarGuidedVermin "Dude, this 118...." Unnecessary smartazz post. All music is "new music" to each of us at one time or another, Dude.

  • <3 Bravo! Voi, kyllä! Stunning! I very much appreciated the entire Lemminkäinen Suite with your fabulous music videos*^o^* Epic poetry & music!! Thank you so much for posting & sharing! Brilliant☆ <3

  • Who are the performers on this recording?

  • Sibelius is a genius!

  • I discovered Sibelius recently and I'm absolutely enthralled with his work. He's pretty much completely unknown here in America, so this is pretty much my only way to hear his music. Thank you so much!

  • Good for you. Im a life-long Sibelius fan - he is well-known in the UK where I am from. Which pieces have you been listening to?

  • Thank you. My favorite. Perhaps it is sad that Sibelius went into more "symbolistic" direction after these romantic works like Lemminkäinen.

  • @kjr63 I don't think so. I think it's great that we have the full, amazing variety that Sibelius offered us - from his Kalevala days, to the more general/broad/symbolistic style of the later symphonies. I think he came back to this early "Kalevala Style" in the form of pieces such as Luonnotar and then even later Tapiola.

  • im from egypt and im devoted in sibelius music but the opera house here dont held much

  • It's so amazing, it makes you smile. Sibelius holds a special place in my heart.

  • Incidentally, which orchestra & conductor do we have to thank for the performance? Same artists as for the version of The Swan of Tuonela that you uploaded?

  • Good going, DarkRaimundo! I see you've already uploaded The Swan of Tuonela. Can we expect Lemminkäinen & the Maidens of Saari & Lemminkäinen in Tuonela to appear on YouTube soon, thus completing the Four Legends?

  • I want to thank you too for uploading this! it is indeed wonderful

  • THIS IS AMAZING MUSIC!!!! I love it! Please keep on uploading music by Sibelius, I love to hear new music! Thank you so much for uploading! I really enjoyed it!

  • @earthatic "I love to hear new music!"

Dude, this is 118 years old. It's hardly "new."
