Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert Cialdini, very interesting book, i recommend it to everyone who's interested in persuasion techniques (manipulation in other words) for one or another reason :) and great videos by the way :)
The power of bandwagoning is something I consciously scoff at all the time, because such a large percentage use it you see it everywhere... The suicide statistic was truly disturbing...
@Ducky1138 Agreed. Reciprocation and bandwagoning have been over used. I prefer to build consistency and then push forward on limited freedom to act consistently. This works much better. For a period of time news organizations agreed among themselves to not report on suicides because of the stats presented. They decided to act against the public best interest though for higher ratings. Says something about the principles of the us news
Awesome video and it really helps me out in my presentation on the same topic. Extremely helpful is THE WAY you read this ;) You sound very nice and ''easy to listen''. Maybe some videos on how to speak well? :D Still, it improves my talk a lot when I try to simulate you. Are you a rpofessional presenter or something?
@ElanorPL I'm glad you liked it. Yes I give free presentations all over the place. I don't think my personality really comes across in these videos though. I don't really like my voice, but I used to be on the radio forever ago. I guess all that matters is that you like it though :)
@derekbanas I think its because everyone hates the sound of their own voice hehe.
I dont know if this is possible but i would like to ask you if you could tell something about projection. Im currently working a lot with myself. Im a dancer and im used to expressing myself through my body. But now i must express myself orally and im so bad at that.
I have watched some videos on youtube where they explain projection and how to breath all the way down to the stomach. Projection is when you
@VitaminTMan Agreed! Just watched it last night. I still don't understand why so many people were confused by it though. If you want to be confused by a movie watch Primer
@zenzetra I'm doing a bad job since those videos have such a small number of views :) If I was aiming to get a bunch of views believe me I'd just copy ZeFrank or do a current event show. This is just fun for me. No devious master plan here, or if there was one I'm failing horribly.
@sasoon38 I never read that book, but I definitely heard about it. Most of my research comes from out of print books and psychology journals. I try to do original stuff that is not easily available and then somebody writes a best seller and I miss it :) I'll definitely check it out. Thanks
@ddrmario456 Thank you for the nice comment. I got offered YouTube partner which means more promotion but also ads. I haven't decided what to do yet. Thanks again.
@LordConnorStudios Part 2 of this series goes into seduction techniques, but the answer is yes. All of the pickup artist guys use Neurolinguistic Programming and that is what most of this stuff is based on.
Nice..

I love how when the section on reciprocating came up, I realised that the advert to the right was one asking to donate £5 to UNICEF :P

@scottmarshall456 I wasn't sponsored to do this presentation. Please don't feel obligated to donate or buy anything.

A lot of this is from Malcolm Gladwell's "The Tipping Point". Good stuff.
