Lovesong (and probably all of Disintegration) is my favorite work by The Cure, but I'm still more of a rocker in spirit and Jack Off Jill appeals to me more. I like this version the best. When I listened to the others, it just didn't have the omfh I was expecting at certain parts. this has the nice smooth and high parts. Gonna make a version just like this, but in guy version ;D so we can give our gf's somethin for V-day

The original version by The Cure evokes more sincerity and longing. But this is a pretty good cover, if anyone wants a more fun, outgoing version.

@Whiskylita Nope. They disbanded 10 years ago. Jessicka went on to form Scarling, who are somewhat softer in sound, and more.. noise rock-ish? Still fantastic though. Robin went on to form TCR. Dunno what they're like.

actually also if u want to look into the history of "goth" u need to look into 70's punk because thats where it all started (batcave punk aka deathrock). the term goth to me is a little too romantic for such a naturalistic age i think the term darkwave is more appropriate. and whoever called jack off jill a goth band is wrong. their alternative rock and industrial rock

the cure IS Gothic. STOP thinking about their "IMAGE". style has so little to do with goth, its all in the lyrics and the sound of the singers voice and the band. Start studying the medieval/dark ages and the Renaissance you'll be glued to Gothic subculture...i know i am. :D <3

@thisismyusername617 actually both look and music wise the cure was alternative and new wave. they weere never a goth band and if you want to look into goth the renaissance is not the time period to look in. you want to look into 18th literature to be more precise..romanticism.

As far as covers go, it's not a bad version. Personally, it lacks the feeling that the song needs. I dunno, to me, the vocalist is singing the words, not feeling the words. Listen to Tori Amos' version of Lovesong, she feels the song, not just sings the song.
