Chad Sexton is indeed, the shit. lol.. And 311 as well.. I've been to more 311 shows than any other, and they sound phenomenal live.. and is a totally different experience from any album or digital song you hear pre-recorded.
That is a shame. I am glad I was in drumline and learned all the rudiments. Were they boring? Yes, I appreciate them now though. Also, where were the live clips from(Down, Amber, Applied Science...) I haven't tracked them down. Were they just shot for this segment? Or were they shot in a 311 day 04 type video?....
When u experiance a corps like i did, then u can accomplish just about anything i marched Bd snare 94-96, best time of my ;life and yes i have casey brohards number..lol
One summer quarter in college I thought it would be cool to take trap lessons. My instructor happened to be the former drumline director of the Garfield Cadets. What I thought was going to be an easy "A" turned out to be the toughest class I had that quarter. Needless to say, I have the utmost respect for jazz drummers.
chad sexton, one of the most underrated drummers ever, he may not be the fastest at double bass or the fastest snare drummer, but beat for beat i would put him up to any rock drummer nowadays.
yup, your right, but I acually seen a video the other day where he owned the snare drum pretty well, was kinda impressed. And the double bass petal ruins the drums, he just doesn't over do it like all that hardcore rock. Makes me respect him a little more.
That's awesome man.. I totally agree. I've been in my schools marching band for two years now and prior to that I never saw the benifits from playing in one but until you do.. man, you definatly learn a whole lot. And I think every drummer should do it atleast once.
Applied Science drum break 311. Search it! One of the best live rock shows!!!

@CommancheDoyle Same here, as long as drummers don't become too robotic, it's the best thing that can happen.

100% agreed! These kids actually need to study rudiments before moving on the set. You need to learn to walk before learning to run.

chad is purely a single kick drum player.
