  • Applied Science drum break 311. Search it! One of the best live rock shows!!!

  • BKQP '06

  • I joined my high school drumline and it has made my drumming so much more cleaner.

  • @CommancheDoyle Same here, as long as drummers don't become too robotic, it's the best thing that can happen.

  • i think he's tutin his own horn...

  • I like how there's a 311 song for every mood change in this video.

  • Great clip! Thank you for posting. xoxo

  • one of my greatest inspirations from my childhood and still today

  • BKQP '06!!!!!!!!

  • AHEM AND 311 smokes weed that prooves theres nothing wrong with it =]

  • duuuude amen :P

wisest comment ever made a mon avis lol :)

  • @bobbyboyya lmao...someone has to bring that point up

  • chad sexton is the shit dude love 311 real talent

  • Chad Sexton is indeed, the shit. lol.. And 311 as well.. I've been to more 311 shows than any other, and they sound phenomenal live.. and is a totally different experience from any album or digital song you hear pre-recorded.

  • @CAMPkillYOURself7 the only problem is i dont think he knows his own talent :p

  • I marched with Chad in the Railmen in 1986 - fun show and I can brag about knowing him too!

  • Music education. Get your children involved!!! Great vid.

  • thanks for putting this up!

  • who cares about that guy with the trumpet? lol

  • lolol +rep

  • 2:32.

  • @JPPraterCO08 I agree. screw the trumpet guy! we want drums!

  • @JPPraterCO08 wtf i know!!

  • I wish I learned rudiments before I started playing drums, which is probably the reason why I'm sloppy as fuck, lmao!

  • That is a shame. I am glad I was in drumline and learned all the rudiments. Were they boring? Yes, I appreciate them now though. Also, where were the live clips from(Down, Amber, Applied Science...) I haven't tracked them down. Were they just shot for this segment? Or were they shot in a 311 day 04 type video?....

  • Amber and AS were 311 day 06, IDK about Down

  • What song is playing at 3:10?

  • When u experiance a corps like i did, then u can accomplish just about anything i marched Bd snare 94-96, best time of my ;life and yes i have casey brohards number..lol

  • I hearted marching drum corps and I still heart Chad Sexton.

  • Fuck yes for Chad-Tastic Ronald Sexton!

  • drum corps kicked ass for me. I marched :)

  • i wish more modern drummers would be more rudimental like chad sexton...

  • no wonder he's such a clean drummer...drum corps is so damn intense

  • Chad has never ever used a double bass pedal. just that fuckin fast. his kick is completely flawless

  • fucking right man

    hes the shit!!

  • dude fuck yea... chad is good becuase he got his rudiments nad tec. befro he got cought up in rock.

  • 100% agreed! These kids actually need to study rudiments before moving on the set. You need to learn to walk before learning to run.

  • chad is purely a single kick drum player.

  • One summer quarter in college I thought it would be cool to take trap lessons. My instructor happened to be the former drumline director of the Garfield Cadets. What I thought was going to be an easy "A" turned out to be the toughest class I had that quarter. Needless to say, I have the utmost respect for jazz drummers.

  • That is awesome that Chad Sexton used to play in a Drum Corps Marching Band. Talk about using your drumming skills to the fullest.

  • Wow! There's actually a show on Drumcorps and marching band! That's so cool! How I hope they have show like this in our country!

  • Chad Sexton is the man! Most influential drummer in my life, hands down!

  • double bass? want to know what's funny? he doesn't use that shit, he's just quick as fuck

  • chad sexton has more chops then anyone marchign dci or wgi right now

  • chad sexton, one of the most underrated drummers ever, he may not be the fastest at double bass or the fastest snare drummer, but beat for beat i would put him up to any rock drummer nowadays.

  • truer words never spoken. Well put dude, he is unbelievably clean and precise w/ his music and he is my biggest influence in drumming.

  • yup, your right, but I acually seen a video the other day where he owned the snare drum pretty well, was kinda impressed. And the double bass petal ruins the drums, he just doesn't over do it like all that hardcore rock. Makes me respect him a little more.

  • That's awesome man.. I totally agree. I've been in my schools marching band for two years now and prior to that I never saw the benifits from playing in one but until you do.. man, you definatly learn a whole lot. And I think every drummer should do it atleast once.
