Guns and Roses are one of the greatest bands ever. And their live music does not compare to the studio music. Listen to through the Fire and the Flames live in Wacken. they are amazing, and put on a hell of a show..way better than the green day you probabbly listen to..

Do you really think they could play a song live perfectly with tons of sweepings while standing up? no. i bet you don't even know what sweeping is. you only know how to play on a plastic guitar. but anyways, yeah stfu because you can't even play guitar.

Plus, there are plenty of guitarists who CAN do all of their technical skills standing up, drunk, whatever. And besides this video does not display any "technical difficulties", it simply doesn't compare to their studio work, a lot of bands don't play as well live, especially when compared to their studio music back to back.
@haildeftone00 Nailed it. Quality-wise the studio version of a song will always trump a live performance. If you went to a metal concert expecting to hear exactly what you heard from a MP3, either you're a moron or your favorite band is lipsyncing.
But that's just for quality, and for a lot of music (metal especially!) the live performance gives something the studio recording just can't. Maybe it's the noise, or the crowd singing along, or whatever, but some bands are so much better in concert.

No way, absolutely no way, Kiss always gives you perfect performances almost same as on their cassete's or cd's (Yeah, I'm a TRUE metalhead, still listening cassetes and Cd's), these guys of Dream Theater, Helloween, Angra, Pantera, Sacrecy, The Sword, Deep Purple, and Stratovarius always made Perfect live performances; if you have EVER been or seen concerts of these bands, you will notice that you are wrong, Oh, and, no one of this band use the lipsync.

@fafloresr Get your head out of your ass. Most bands are fairly good live. They may not sound 100% the same as they do on recordings, but most bands can perform live in a plausible enough manner. Megadeth, Maiden, heck, even bands that aren't metal (e.g. Oasis, Nirvana, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Killers, Phoenix, , the list goes on) can perform well enough to satisfy. May not be perfect, but they play good enough to satisfy.
Dragonforce, on the other hand, can't play live to save their lives.

@sephmefo As a guitar player myself, I can tell you that it is the musicians job to tune their own instrument. And besides this video does not display any "technical difficulties", it simply doesn't compare to their studio work, a lot of bands don't play as well live, especially when compared to their studio music back to back.

@haildeftone00 Nailed it. Quality-wise the studio version of a song will always trump a live performance. If you went to a metal concert expecting to hear exactly what you heard from a MP3, either you're a moron or your favorite band is lipsyncing.
But that's just for quality, and for a lot of music (metal especially!) the live performance gives something the studio recording just can't. Maybe it's the noise, or the crowd singing along, or whatever, but some bands are so much better in concert.

@thomasiscool94 You're right, I haven't. And I've heard they're great musicians. But surely the live performance doesn't sound EXACTLY like the studio recording? If it does then that should raise a red flag, and besides it's missing the eccentricities that make it a concert worth coming to, instead of a place where everyone comes to listen to the radio, y'know?

No way, absolutely no way, Kiss always gives you perfect performances almost same as on their cassete's or cd's (Yeah, I'm a TRUE metalhead, still listening cassetes and Cd's), these guys of Dream Theater, Helloween, Angra, Pantera, Sacrecy, The Sword, Deep Purple, and Stratovarius always made Perfect live performances; if you have EVER been or seen concerts of these bands, you will notice that you are wrong, Oh, and, no one of this band use the lipsync.

And like a said, the down tuning has nothing to do with how terrible this performance was. Also, none of the tabs say this song is tuned down, and it certainly doesn't sound like it is.

Hm, why is it that Dragonforce's music is very technical but it stinks, while the music of Hellhammer is very simple but kicks ass? Just shows, being technical does not guarantee your music is awesome. I'd rather listen to Hellhammer playing 4 chord songs than this crap.

Because this video is really old and I think you should look here for a recent concert and you will see how they have improved playing live (For example, Graspop 2009). It is stupid how you all say that Dragonforce is shit and you only take this video and other old videos as a reference to say that. That is not fair for anyone. So, look for recent concerts and you will see.

@fafloresr Get your head out of your ass. Most bands are fairly good live. They may not sound 100% the same as they do on recordings, but most bands can perform live in a plausible enough manner. Megadeth, Maiden, heck, even bands that aren't metal (e.g. Oasis, Nirvana, The Beatles, AC/DC, The Killers, Phoenix, , the list goes on) can perform well enough to satisfy. May not be perfect, but they play good enough to satisfy.
Dragonforce, on the other hand, can't play live to save their lives.

@fafloresr the issue isn't that they don't sound the same live as in studio, it's that they sound so terribly bad live compared to studio (among many, many other things). at least for me. personally, i like when a song sounds a little different live - encourage it even. to me nothing shows more skill than good ol' fashioned improvisation

Although it has since been proven untrue, DragonForce still lost many fans due to these rumors. The gig also earned the band the nickname Studioforce, meaning they relied on production for their full sound and couldn't play their own songs live, although later concerts have proven this false.

Due to all this, the Graspop 2006 performance is considered DragonForce's worst performance and was enough to convince many DragonForce fans that they couldn't play live. Dragonforce had a shitload of thecnical problems throughout that tour. If you're gonna judge a band by it's live preformance, do it on a better quality tour. I'm sick of the romours about dragonforce's song playability. They play just fine on stage! Trust me, i've been front row in a few of their concerts.

For one thing it doesn't even look like he's hitting the right frets and for another that squealing bend he does at the end isn't humanly possible to do when you lift your guitar up in the air by the trem bar
