He was and remains, a wonderful talent, but somehow he never fulfilled that talent and never had the career he should have. The music world shifted to rock and undermined his career- just as he was becoming successful. He'll be remembered too often for that "Loveboat" stuff. A shame that his CDs are so hard to find.
@mswingmusic Jack Jones and Johnny Mathis were about the best there was when I was a kid....many many years ago. The kids today are all autotuned and can't hold a candle to these two guys!
I have been a fan eversince, I still remember vividly when he had a concert in Manila 's Folk Arts Center and he came near me while singing, and I'll gave him a kiss !
This remains one of my favorite all time vocal performances, I have had the album it's on all my life and have never tired of hearing it, he's amazing, what a fabulous SINGER.
This is from the January 8, 1965 episode of "THE JACK BENNY PROGRAM"; Jack is singing one of the numbers from the "current" Broadway musical, "Hello, Dolly!".
He acted in an episode of the rat patrol where the germans are listening to his record and he sings for them so the rat patrol can escape [ the song goes like this:tiny boy ,tiny girl ,all wrappped up in their tiny little world...].
Bravo!! Jack Jones sings this classic with so much feeling & great vocal control.Pure sound & vocal range! 5 ***** Video...Marc Jones-Vocalist..Los Angeles,U.S.A.
Fantastic! Jack's incredible Bewitched album is finding new life on radio and YouTube. Every song, performance and arrangement on it is brilliant. Hear that, MCA - time to finally issue it on CD! Jack's Kapp albums are truly the BURIED TREASURE of pop. Great to see this video!
What a cool, jazz waltz version of this song! Jack Jones! Wow! What a looker! What a singer! I'm really digging this!
