The one thing that meath, as footballers and supporters, have failed to realise is that because of this incident they will be playing in very hostile conditions in their next match. They have made enemies of themselves, and to be honest it wasn't really their doing. The referee and umpires were to blame for their "should have gone to specsavers" moment. I doubt very much that Joe Sheridan thought that the goal would stand but with time running out what other options did he have.
