Already read Long Hard Road Out Of Hell. but now that i've heard the entire Antichrist Superstar album all together, I should probably read it again. Haha That pan flute scares me. :)
This is the only Manson album I hold dear. I find it ironic that the only Manson album that I listen to anymore was produced by Trent Reznor. I still listen to NIN.
One of his most passionate, deep songs. For me, it's a reflection of the doubts we impose on ourselves. Our regrets--our sins--control us. Even in the game, Silent Hill, and it's following sequels, this is evident.
"Come. Come."
Such puppets we are.
"Because today is black. Because there is no turning back. Because your lies have watered me, I have become the strongest weed."
this is my shit right here!classic jamm love da groove. anyone who knows anythin bout music has gotta appreciate this shit... (this is what u should fear!!!) amazing ending.
@JayBennett1973 For sure. This album really does stand out from the rest of MM's discography. It was and still is insanely good. Mechanica Animals was ok too, but AS is their best so far. One of the darkest albums I've ever heard, and boy, I've heard a few dark albums in my life. One more thing: I love the sample or whatever it is that begins at 0:57, kind of 8-bit, reminds me of playing a Commodore64 game ;) Brilliant!
This is the song they were playing when Manson came out on those fucked up stilts. One of the best shows I ever saw and Helmet opening up for Manson was a nice touch.
my theory as to why he gave this song a german name is that this song was about his life at his grandparents' house, and they had ancestors from poland and germany, its says so in his book
Kinderfeld: Field of children.

I used to listen to Manson years ago. Then, I just kind of stopped. Grew out of it, I guess.
Listening to this song now, I have no idea why. This is fantastic.

@mikiep4 Sounds like a cool show. RATM and Manson with Korn in 1 week in 1995 in a Steel Facotry are the two best show I saw in 1 week!

love this song.
but yehh this song has a story behind it.
pandarawr89 3 years ago 5
Whats the story behind this song?
Hairmetaller86 3 years ago
It's the pivot moment of the album. The transformation when the worm consumes the boy and he becomes an Antichrist Rock Star.
The concept is influenced by Friedrich Nietzsche book The Antichrist.
Somehow the idea with the worm reminds me of The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka.
