I am inclined to disagree with your impression. Pavarotti was a very private, almost a shy man. For him to show this much of emotion shows his regard for Skin. Anyone who had seen him perform or met him in person would confirm that.
Try watching his other performances with other contemporary artists and you may get an idea about how reserved he was.

I am not usually a fan of Pavarotti, but these 'and Friends' shows he did were lovely. This song is gorgeous and Skin is such a passionate and talented singer. The two of them play off each other so well, which you don't see often with him.

Man oh man, I just went back to my youth and downloaded "Paranoid and Sunburnt" for the RATM licks and heavy vocal talent skin has got.... what an amazing powerful album! Then I watch this, and I'm just about curled up crying in a corner.... just beautiful! Big man Pavvers too, he's loving it, just look at his face at the end, mutual respect indeed! Thanks for the upload friend!

This was amazing i had no idea they had collaborated :) Is it just me or does any1 else think that when you see pavarotti singing.... Its like he's looking out for the police or something or expecting ninjas to jump out, his eyes are all shifty.... Pavarotti = Criminal mastermind.....? :p

That the late Signore chose to perform a Skunk Anansie, one of the most underrated bands (at least in the States), tune raises my already significant respect for him. Just listen to Skin and Luciano together at the end. It brings tears.
