  • Enjoyed the video! -- Lori Kagan-Moore, Director, The Great American Dollhouse Museum

  • I think it is ironical that one would spend som much time and money creating this and then have a track that looks ridiculous - perhaps that is why we don't see it that often.

  • @OldEchoes1 I find your comment highly "ironical"

  • @hines1957 I see, you've built GRAMMAR CENTRAL STATION!

  • @OldEchoes1 The whole criticism is absurd; the grammar and spelling mistakes are just the icing on the cake. The description and video titles make it clear that this model is in a museum and is intended to exhibit several different styles at once. It is not intended to show off top-of-the-line modern equipment; it is showing off historical pieces.

  • @OldEchoes1

thats not ironic, its apropos ! ;D

  • just incredable,.... my next vacation will be there. one question where do you buy all the neat buildings? im new to model trains, just got all my grandfathers american flyers trains that i enjoyed as a kid. using all upstairs of my house for trains.... cant get enough. any ideas or web sites will help, highschoolrdneck@aol.com thanks

  • If someone saw me while i was watching this, they might have thought i had rabies... ?_? this is COMPLETELY AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • You folks complaining about time frames and other details probably did not read the description and don't realize that this setup is in a museum and is intended to showcase a range of styles and periods.

  • Love the concept, as I see a lot of kids there. Future model railroaders? We hope so! Great job and I love the multiple time-era setting! Yes, the purist may complain, but I see the purpose and the effect on the young people! Keep up the great work! PS, it would be really neat to see an articulated steam engine pulling a load of modern cars like you have here! That would be a sight to see! Cheers!

  • It's more a toy train setup than a real layout. But, each to his own, I guess.

  • Scenery is great! Time frame... Not so much.

  • That is wicked. I love the moving accessories. ☠

  • i have some really cool large buildings for sale if anyone is interested also a large wooden bride..general store,jail...some have inside items.these would most likely be for an outdoor model railroad...if interested in seeing pics email me at rebbyfield@gmail.com

  • Thanks for uploading this video. Nice layout, animations, and a decent rail yard to boot! Congrats to the group/club that spent the time making a great layout!

  • It cool I want it!!

  • wish my garage and budget was big enough to have something to this degree

  • this is wonderful!

  • Amazing layout man. I have 2 questions. 1: how long did it take you to put that all together? 2: how many trains do you normally run at one time?

  • 4:50 is that a Union Pacific Big Boy?

  • @24chancer

    No, thats a Up 9000

    (i think)

  • 1:10 What train is that?

  • O scale?

  • WOW!

  • It always seems to come down to size, doesn't it?

  • The layout is really cool! I love the articulated locomotives!

  • O scale is the best.

  • Hey Dell, while they're updating to satisfy you, maybe you can take an English class.

  • That's amazing!

  • @iamkida screw you idiot

  • 1:04 I'd Hate to be that guy, living next to a huge drop off creek.

  • Great layout. Shame about the camera work - made me feel quite unwell.

  • @lamkida nobody cares about how you feel, how about next time you keep your feelings to yourself and let the rest of us browse youtube in peace.

  • @am19862011 Yeah - fuck you too.

  • really cool always wanted to see something like that.

  • @DJMikaelito wow you sound like an exciting person

  • @am19862011

Thank you....i remember as a kid i always wanted to see one model layout like these one.

  • @DJMikaelito yea i guess needs to be bugger, thats just my opinion

  • @am19862011

    hahhahaha

  • This is a really good one love the detail

the water wheel, and the animated park is really clever

  • Thanks for the post. I always liked that layout. I love Lionel trains and the sound that they make.eve with the sound effects.

  • If anyone's interested in buying my HO scale collection for cheap, message me.

  • trains were alot better on HO scale cus it brought the imagination to life to adults and kids.

  • Why is it that so often I see a layout with trains running at mach 1? Why aren't the trains run at prototypical speeds? I would expect to see that on a lionel layout, but to see it on a layout that someone has gone to the time and expense of making it look good and then to run trains way to fast just detracts from everything else. So slow the trains down so they look as real as the layout they are running on!

  • What was used to make the roads??

  • how did you make the mountains and tunnels?

  • OMG!!!!! why am i addicted to model trains? lol

  • What's the point of this?

  • @TheEmarbe Stokla transa prikolicati naklap! !

  • <3<3<3<3<3

  • those are cool trains

  • what was that big control box called so i can geyt one for my set cos mine has lots of interchanging tracks thanks

    From

    Burtdoctor :)

  • @BurtDoctor - you pretty much have to make one of those yourself, or get someone who can to design one for your particular layout.

  • Outstanding video work

  • Nice, but the tracks are to clean and shiney.

  • Cool video ! Keep up the good work !

  • THEY NEED TO SET THE TIME FRAME UP ON IT,I SEEN SOME REAL OLD CARS AND TRAINS THEN I SEEN SOME NEWER STYLE CARS AND TRAINS,2 DIFFERENT TIMES GOING ON

  • @dell19782008 This is set up at a train museum; they are showcasing trains and landscape items across multiple time periods on purpose.

  • @dell19782008 awwww stop being picky you... lol whats a century or 2 .. lol

  • @dell19782008 its a train set ..... your meant to have fun with them ...

  • @dell19782008 my layout is going to have both diesels and steamers. Model railways are about having fun. You dont have to have it in a certain time frame. It really limits you like say you set the time frame in the 1940's where steam was king. But then at the store you saw a really cool SD40-2 diesel loco. Then i would look out of place with the rest of your steamers

  • Hines- Have you ever checked out EnterTRAINment Junction in West Chester Ohio? It's about 15 min. north of Cincinnati.

Thanks for uploading this video. It's very good quality and gorgeous layout.

  • @LWSParents I have never been to Ohio (except to change planes), but if I find myself in the area I'll be sure to check it out. Thanks for letting me know about it!

  • @LWSParents I visited EnterTRAINment while staying in Newport KY. Great place and I suggest everyone visit. :)

  • Wow... This layout is absolutely AMAZING! This thing embodies all of what model railroading is about! The small details are HUGELY emphasized, and it makes it very fun to look at! Great Scenery, Great moving parts, and some of the most fun I've ever seen!

  • Absolutely AMAZING LAYOUT!!!!!!! So glad to see this video...had model trains as a child..now I'm 49 and thinking of resurrecting my train hobby...your video and this INCREDIBLE LAYOUT is spectacular AND pulls at "heartstrings" for those who love model trains, model hobbies and REAL trains..thanks for sharing your masterpiece with everyone.. It will INSPIRE me to start model railroading in mid-life!

    BIG SMILES CAN ONLY RESULT!!!!

    : ) Scott W. (S.F. /Vallejo/Bay Area, CA)

  • That took a lot of time, effort and patience to get this from a train set to a working masterpiece of art. Well done!

  • I have been there. It is pretty cool

  • Scale model railroading is too much work. This one is just plain fun. This is supposed to be a fun hobby not a second job.

  • That's awesome, keep up the great work!

  • how come the americans have to have a centre rail for power and not normal track like hornby

  • @jango1968 - Many American O-gauge trains, particularly Lionel, have stuck with the old three-rail system. One advantage is, polarity problems at reversing loops and triangular junctions are avoided.

  • doesent just looking at that just make u want to play with it

  • Terrific!

  • That layout is amazing but the 3rd rail is really annoying to me. I don't know why but I can't get over it.

  • Awesome looks like a lot of fun

  • great very detailed model railway with interesting models. 5*

  • droooool

  • very nice

  • if you really want to see a great and realistic model train layout see railz in rotterdam

  • Ahh, not my favorite. Nice, though.

  • The world would be such a cooler place, if a town of this size in real life really did have this many trains running through it.. awe yes, nobody would sleep, ever. muahahah

  • As it turns out, this was a pretty good video. However Mr. Youtube, I fail to see how you recommend this video because I watched a darts final :p

  • Enjoyed this a lot! --The Great American Dollhouse Museum in Danville, KY

  • I love the guy putting things in the back of his truck!

  • Little children don't care about scale, they just enjoy watching the trains. Thats all that matters.

  • NVanWendy is correct. This is one hell of a nice toy train layout but it is not scale model railroading.

  • With all due respect, this is a toy train layout, not a model railroad. It uses the old three-rail track, very simplistic scenery, and what we call a "spaghetti bowl" track plan.

Nonetheless, this is a dream for toy train collectors, and operates well. It's just that there a distinction between this kind of thing and scale model railroading.

    Happy railroading! 8-)

  • Needs more shrubery

  • Are you one of the Knights who say Ni?

  • @hines1957 LOL

  • @hines1957 ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-fuhclang-zoom-boing!

  • @SicTransitGloria31 Jesus dude i was just giving u a complement and u fuking dis me..

  • @smallsnipe k dude not to sound harsh man, but you made your self look dumb. my mama always told me "better to remain silent and be thought a fool, then to speak up and remove all doubt" lmao im not dissin anyone.

  • its amazing

  • Beautiful! I will have to stop by when I am in the neighborhood. I live in the Rocky Mountains.

  • I have almost a grand in just track and rolling stock.

  • I Think Thats Worth About £5000,Nice Layout!

  • wow...without the people looking...this would look real! :D

  • What a beauty.

  • Nice scenery work.

  • very nice! my trains in storage til get my own house, like to have 1 tht big lol but ima make a small 1, favorite part is building the model buildings

  • Absolutely the best! A killer layout...the attention to detail is amazing, kudos to you sirs.

  • Wow! The controls look like they came off a Star Trek prop!

  • u should see the controll desk at minature wonderland!

  • truckguy74391 your an idiot! the trains are a few hundred EACH and there is more then one train, then you have the lumber for the benchwork, then you have the track cost, the scenery, the products to make the scenery, THE ELECTRICITY BILL! cademars39 is right!

  • @Truckguy74391 what decade are you living in? & this isnt Model Power stuff. Just for my new layout I'm starting. I've already spent $2000. And thats just the start of it.

  • wow very nice...that must have cost a few thousand dollars.

  • cademars39 maybe one hundred thousand wiyth the collection on the walls.....VERY Nice sir.

  • Add another zero to that, I think.

  • I have seen this in person, the video doesn't do it justice.

  • Aw man now I want this train set. It's so freakin cool!

  • Model Trains are an expensive hobby to start and maintain, but its so much fun :)

  • i love model trains too. they are so much fun

  • Are all the loops connected somehow? If so it gets my 5*

  • this layout is raw!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great Layout!

  • impressive

  • Those trains run on alternated current(AC) like the German Märklin, don't they?

  • Yes, it is 3-track AC

  • bet his wife never see's him.

  • I don't think the museum is married.

  • LOL,thanks

  • Daddy I want one.

  • Great models

  • for frieght trains they shuld put graffiti on it so it looks uber real

  • awesome layout awesome selection of rolling stock and loso's would have liked to see more of the control panel tho

  • this layout is awesome nice job

  • kewl

  • I've been there!

  • ythat man 1:33 has got the most repetitive job ever

  • This is the best lay out I've ever seen. It's even better if control center is shown more clearly..

  • do they have real engines? and how do they get those sounds?

  • DUDE! REALLY?

  • awesome layout!!!.5*

  • Very impressive. I want to know where you can get the professional switch board to switch the tracks.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME A GOOD PRICED REALISTIC HO TRACK BRAND (no e-z or powerlock track or atlas)

  • This looks like a scene from the Movie Young and Innocent which was directed by Alfred Hitchcock. They used model trains several times in the movie and blended real cars and people into the scenes.

  • yeah. back in hitchcocks day, real editing and directing skill was needed. Not saying that it isnt today, but so many movies rely on CGI to make scenes, no real improvision is needed any more. i find it rather sad :'( anyway, fab layout. lol:P

  • I have been here and this layout is incredible. It doesn't have the "round-n-round" feeling of a lot of other display layouts. the scenery is realistic and accurate. The nicest O layout I have ever seen.

  • WOW!

  • try watching some of my train vids. there not as good @ this though. i got some O scales

  • that is absolutly amazing mate

    sheer incredible

  • Superb layout. I am amased at the signals, etc . more that what you usually see with the typical O-Gage layouts. I am into mostly HO and N scales, but the caption is true- A layout this detailled would make me drool- Not your typical "Train Set" There's enough here to keep your attention for months. Beautiful Layout. Thanks for sharing. Mike in Fresno, Ca.

  • Even though they aren't British style trains, they are pretty amazing.

  • wow just wow even those little things like swing and spinning thing move some guy takes drywallor sumthing off hte truck amzing

  • Why won't anyone help that poor guy with the sheet of plywood?

  • By the looks of things this is an O scale 3 rail layout

  • Now THAT'S a train layout!

  • yea lol,, people start to get too crazy about the accesories.. i think thats plenty of whats on that layout. remember the main thing to think about are the trains!

  • Very detailed. But for a mostly mountain landscape i would have expected that town to have at least one or two coal trains. I guess the mines are shut down, lol!

  • really imprssive, not into trains really, just models, but REALLY enjoyed the buildings...would like to see more of the town sections...nice lightin....
