Oh, and I haven't forgotten that this same track was used for a scene from the 1987 G.I. Joe movie, where the Joes are ambushed by the forces of the Cobrala Empire.

This track sounds a TV version of the background music that was used in the Transformers movie from 1986. It has a vague resemblence to that one track.

I agree. It really sounds like his varation of "Autobot-Decepitcon Battle. The 0:010 mark that is. Season 3 had alot of underrated tracks.

@OfficialStriderHiryu Yep. It's almost like some of the background music was taken directly from the movie, but instead they are different versions of those tracks. I especially recall a track from season 3 that sounds a lot like the track used in the chase scene in the junkyard planet. And I even remember that one of the songs from the movie (namely the Touch) was used once more in the two part episode "Return of Optimus Prime".
