  • Any one has an idea if those are metal strings or nylon strings?

  • @Esjar207 Metal =]

  • @Esjar207 steel

  • this guy is awesome

  • Greatest guitar man ever but there is never a good tutorial for this song how to play it

  • @phython911 Tommy likes to improvise a lot, so every time he performs this song he adds different variations to it. His style of using the pick while plucking with his fingers is very hard to write into a tutorial or tablature.

Watch his left hand and you will realize how complex his style is, he's playing two different rhythms as if there are two guitars playing the same song.

  • absolute Aussie legend. ,Good on ya tommy...

  • Can any one tell what Model guitar it is.Haeronthegreat your tuning DGDGBE(see my clip around 1st week in july) is known as quassi (kw-oz-ie) tuning, cheers D

  • @daktucs He's playing a Maton EBG808 TE.

  • VERY hard song but wicked fun to play once u get it down pat

  • your better than mp3 reader so cute peace said from morocco

  • my favorite of tommy's

  • same here, just learnt how to play it, its so simple once you get right into the rythm

  • pure brilliance. I learnt this, the only thing im having trouble with now is the harmonics

  • like tommy said when he explained it, focus on accuracy, getting the harmonic right on the fret, and play near the saddle

  • i feel that thats the easiest part of the song... im just starting to learn it, so i'm getting reacclimated to the TE stretch...

  • beautiful !!

  • he's such a good hybrid picker!

  • whats a hybrid picker?

  • A hybrid picker is when you use your pick and your finger at the same time =)

  • i pick hybrid all the time, its so much easier to play that way

  • well hell man just depends on what you started with! it's fun when you start getting it down. i prefer my fingers with some medium not too flashy nails. makes my classical sound all crisp haha. guitarists unite!

  • Tommy is ace! I tried to cover this song but without a cappo and a bit too slow.

  • This sounds very nice.

  • stalker!!! :D:D:D

  • :) I don't know what you mean.

  • I'm afraid you do, deep within yourself.

  • I love it.Thanks for posting.

  • was this a private concert? Sorry if it was posted somewhere and I didn't see it.

  • It was at some sessions recorded for these magazines, I believe.

  • oh I guess it's drop D isn't it, well that's still a "standard" tuning to me though

  • Agreed! Tommy likes his Drop D. I think the most fringe tuning he's ever used is only like DGDGBE

  • I've been digging the hell out of AEDGBE lately, just invert the bottom strings

  • wow. AEDGBE ? o.O must be a pain to tune up to A haha I prefer DADGAD but I still have much to learn about it

  • HAHA, no you got the wrong idea, tune DOWN to A :)

  • OOOOO hahahahhaha thanks. i was planning on trying that out ahahaha i would've killed my string

  • u tune down e string to d

  • oh really? To get to AEDGBE? I don't think so

(and if you even THINK about saying "stfu dude this song is drop d kthx" go ahead and don't, because you didn't read the conversation)

  • Low to high: DAGBE

    Capo 2nd fret.

    For sure.

  • I meant DADGBE. But it's kinda self-explanatory, no?

  • UGH. READ.

  • UGH. READ.

  • Haha kcmsterpce. He wasn't talking about Tommy Emmanuel's tuning for this song. Read the previous conversation.

  • LOL I bet he gets a lot of "what tuning is that?" LOL shows how good standard tuning still is

  • awesome, some of those fingerings look way too difficult though!

  • Thanks, this will serve as a good reference when it comes to learning this song.

  • awesome thanks for sharing man!

  • That's lovely. Thanks for the upload! Would love to see more of these if you got them! :)

  • Got any more of thes clips
