In a music sheet how do you know which note to play on the violin because (correct me if im wrong) you can play all the scale in one single string how do you knwo which string and finger to play when you see a music sheet. I know the string are G, D, A, and E but as i said before how do you in which string you should play that specific note. Maybe im just confused. Please answer.
@danyboy8219 There are multiple letters on the violin for different notes on the instruments in different octaves. In sheet music this is presented in a much easier way to understand as for example you have the low open G but then also you have 3rd finger on the D string and then second finger on the E string which are all G notes. To know which one to play it will depend on where the note is placed on the staff. Hope this helps!
@WindDancer94 Uh, I know I'm not the guy who made this video. Actually, I'm not even a guy, but uh, press it down so that your finger touches the black finger-board, but doesn't lightly touch the other strings at all. Mostly, it depends on how you place your bow, though. Make sure it's straight and "dig in" as my instructour says, which means press down as hard as you can with the bow without hitting the other strings. Also, make sure your violin and bow are both tuned. :] -Gabriella Eve
