I got a chance to talk to Heather Langenkamp - she said that the president of ABC was Catholic and was upset by this show making fun of the Pope, so he canceled it.
And I thought it was canceled because the viewers were offended by the show trying to recruit people into the Catholic Church.
This show was cancelled for one reason, and one reason only -- it wasn't a Miller-Boyett show, and ABC "wanted" an all MB Friday (in retrospect, they could have had it, and put Just the Ten of Us on either Tuesday or Wednesday -- perhaps after Growing Pains).
Whoa! I can't believe I found this show. This was a great show. It use to come on ABC (T.G.I.F). I don't know why we don't have any tv shows anymore. Everything is "reality shows" which really aren't reality. Anyways, I am glad I found these episodes. Bring back great memories of my childhood. You got to love and appreciate the 90's and 80's.
I loved this show. When it was cancelled, my friend and I started a letter writing campaign to keep the show on the air. We also collected signatures and sent them to ABC. Sadly none of it worked.
I applaud your efforts. I wish more people would speak up and let television networks know how they feel. I've written a few letters myself over the years in regards to various shows. I wish we could talk some sense into some of those network bigwigs - so many bad decisions have been made in TV history.
@JasonLohr Jason, I applaud your efforts to try to keep this great show going. By the way, my friend's father tried the same thing after ABC cancelled Batman way back in '68 - he sent letter after letter to the network, and even to 20th Century Fox. His efforts were also not enough to keep the Caped Crusader on the air.
As Robin would have said, "Holy network politics, Batman!"
@JasonLohr Just like ABC having no good reason to cancel The Green Hornet after just one season. If it had gone on for a few more we would've seen much more of Bruce Lee's martial arts skills.
Right, that's Jenny Lewis she played Hannah Nefler Phyllis and Freddy's daughter in Troop Beverly Hills...great movie, also was she in The Wizard with Fred Savage?
Let's see... there was also Rat Boy, and the episode where he joins the track team, and the episode where he gets a homemade skateboard for his birthday. Oh, and the episode where he and Sherry break the China. Those are the ones I can think of that revolve around his character.
Btw team, sorry about the PM I can't seem to get it to accept messages from people. I disabled it because I was getting spam from all types of freaks. Now I have no idea how I did it. :(

@JasonLohr why was this show cancelled?

@sylicone221 There was no good reason to cancel the show. ABC just made a bad decision. The ratings were good. It was a funny show.

This is got to be a big ass move. From New York to California. Today that move will be impossible.

BTW 3:18 - 3:28 is hilarious! The look on J.R.'s face when she says she isn't wearing perfume, but rather toilet water had me rolling.

This is one of the few episodes that revolve around J.R., considering that most eps. usually involve one of the four oldest girls.
