  • .. honeycomb... humvee and other such vehicles. nuff said

  • india or philippines? :D

  • Please let an other guy or woman speek this presentation1

  • Did you made it with ur ass? :D

  • you are a retard. spot posting anything

  • pinche idu culero haha

  • l think you should stick to Lego,Michelin just may have a better grasp than you and you have obviously just watched Michelin's presentation.

  • How many of these have you sold??? Are you famous yet?? NO BECAUSE YOU SUCK !!!!! Nice try, better luck next time

  • hi my name is knut.. i am an enginer student from norway.. and prototyping like this is what i do. and what i have to say about this is BULLSHIT, this setup will increase your gass milage, if you were to mount this to a car the entire wheel would snap off. under a normal breakdown the weel stops a. lets say 2000kg car, and say it moves at 100kmph so m==20 000n and v= 27,7 m/s so and then use E=1/2mv^2 // E= 798000 joule so 798 knm ergo almost 8 tons to stop.. you cant use that setup.

  • 144,569 views LOL...in all fairness it is not easy to make a scale model like his..nice effort...BUT...YOU SHOULD PRACTICE MORE ON YOUR ENGLISH SPEAKING AND READING...THEN MAYBE YOU CAN GO BACK TO DEVELOPING YOUR DESIGN..

  • All of this mumbo jumbo is great, but until you produce a working prototype , that can undergo testing in a laboratory, this is just mumbo jumbo. This will not handle side loads, hell they can't even patch a radial sidewall.

  • What if some crazy person shoves a metal poll in between the spokes while your driving (I don't know how) and then your whole car gets affected badly?

  • THIS DESIGN IS OBVIOUSLY BETTER THAN MICHELIN'S TWEEL

  • He actually makes some sense here. After a few months, I'm sure, the Michelin Tweel would end up being limp because straight rubber spokes couldn't handle stress long

  • Oh my

  • Can I ask, what the fuck is the point in this? I see no real advantages over an ordinary tyre. Guarantee that the 'tweel' is much more expensive to run than your standard tyre and not as reliable.

  • Michelin Tweel Demo???

  • hahahahahahaha i like to see toys being played with on a jersey hahaha kids drawings

  • why are u so smart fuck

  • isnt it in use now ???

  • One flaw with this design that the Tweel addresses is sideways slip of the outside tread in relation to the center or hub.

On turns, the outside tires' treads will be forced inwards toward the chassis of the vehicle which will make the ride feel like you're driving on water and make it very hard to control at anything above a creep.

That's the real reason these are low speed tires, they are hard to control at higher speeds, increasing the chance of accidents and lawsuits for a flawed design.

  • NEEDS more contact patch

  • thank you, come again....

No I wont watch this video again...

    GOOD BYE

  • horrible presentation, comon guy if you really want to present/sell your idea you have to get some help or work on your presenting skills, geez

  • slam on brakes, rubber bands snap, all hell breaks loose, people die, you committed vehicular homicide. DOT will never pas that.

  • first of all the spokes of the Tweel are supposed to collapse like that, that is how you maximize surface area getting the most traction. with your design your wheels will be non-responsive when cornering. The inner rim will turn but the outer rim won't follow until the tension becomes greater than than the force of friction on the road. With your design the weight of a car will collapse your wheel completely because your wheel produces no outwards pressure and can't retain it's shape.

  • realy you invented gun powder after the war. lear to make better models obviously you've got time.

  • dude, the spokes are supposed to bend.

why would that result in energy loss? the question is whether the flexing is lossy or not. spring material can flex without energy loss

  • Im not even gonna whatch this whole video. Cos' of how shit it is.

  • i guess breaking at high speed is pretty bad with those wheels ..

  • ya you dont know what your talking about

  • Damn u suck dude and so does ur new wheel. Btw perfect engl!!!

  • meensch da klingt ja mein englisch besser!!! xDDD

  • ju spik inglisch veri gut

  • so how many of these tweels has Michelin let you test at highway speeds. Seems that if the spokes were hard and did not flex you would have to drive on polished cement so you would not loose your teeth from being beat to death by the road.

  • they have made prototypes of these things, and they work very well, unless you go over 50mph. if you do, they start vibrating like crazy.

  • omg ^^ 6 min of zzZZzz

  • god damn you talk slow!!!! what the hell do you need to take so long in between sentences for??? are you doing a presentation to handicap people or something??!!!

  • looking at that 1st modle its got potential to be throwen in the shitter

  • @TheAussiNut Judging by your spelling, you aren't exactly the brightest bulb in the box either.

  • I mean this is a vary innovative idea, but his presentation is simply impossible to not laugh at, I really feel sorry for the guy and his great idea.

  • @frbe0101 this is not an innovation this is a rubber wagon wheel.

  • This guy is a beast. leave him alone

  • It's a concept that I'm sure they will improve upon. To nitpick the tire now is just stupidity.

  • Improvements may be easier to come by if one is not conceptually heading in the wrong direction; as in flexing by compression action versus tension action. Just like the run flat tire evolution, headed by Goodyear, which didn't go anywhere in over half a century.

  • umm where did u find the toothpicks? its thread thats even harder to make this with.. lol. haha

  • Get a life retard.

  • your suggestion to him is to watch youtube videos to get a life....hmmm

  • Its called sarcasm douchebag. And nice name by the way. <----Thats sarcasm also just so you know.

  • oh i see...hmm

  • Dude Shut the fuck up...leave him doing what he is doing...hes trying to make our life's easier

  • LOL @ U

  • lol is true

  • no the spokes are suppose to claps to afer a soother ride!! mishlen knowes what thay are doing

  • lol when is that new jumper road coming out then?

  • i dont mean to be mean but come on man! ur props are friggen toilet paper rolls..... this is terrible. seriously though u wasted ur time building those models.

  • This guy could not make Zero gravity sex in space with paint ball guns, on LSD, sound interesting.

  • Is this a joke?

  • you fail

  • I say we slash this guy's tires... lol.. JK

  • totally hairless :)

  • you don't know what you're talking about. i've worked with tweels on construction equipment. they're better than your elastic band and duct tape design. your design neglects the loss of energy in constantly stretching and relaxing the rubber bands. michelin design is far more durable. get a real job.

  • There are reasons why the Michelin Tweels are being used on slow speed applications but not on the road. One is that compressing elements under speed burns up more energy than a stretch action. Its straightforward if you process the problem in a basic hysteresis equation.

  • What are you talking about. Hysteresis? There is no rate independent memory in the tweel. Do some research before you open your mouth.

  • The tweel HAS to deform on the ground. Otherwise there is almost no traction and therefore defeating primary purpose of the tire. The slight deformation causes a larger footprint in the asphalt. This man's wheel will just be dangerous.

  • well played sir

  • thank you

  • your pacing in this video is painful... it is sooo slow.

  • has anyone considered the sidewall pressures that would be very high in this type of tyre during heavy cornering?

  • Ridiculous. The Tweel is designed to flex like that, to absorb bumps in the road and provide dampening for the car.

  • Nice fisher space pen.

  • One thing is obvious, this guy is an engineer, probably a retired one, and micheline should listen those retired engineers come up with some good ideas.

  • He is right completely. This video demonstrates a serious flaw in michelin's design.

  • no it doesn't. it was designed the be the way it is. he just sounds like he knows what he's talking about. granted, michelin still has work to do but this guy is no scientist.

  • Why would this potentially be better - it sure doesnt seem to have undergone the same amount of testing and products development ?

    /K

  • The model cracks me up.

  • could this video be more boring...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • English was clearly not his first language. But he did well at explaining his point. Give the guy a chance ;-)

  • the video was very interesting and I'm sure if you put some thought into the concept presented it would have been a little more enjoyable for you as well.

  • The tread surface would have to expand (perpendicular with the axle) during wheel/tire compression.

  • Michelin got it right. Your design there is not very rigid. Doesn't seem to take into account of the affect that torque will have on the wheel

  • Respect. Michelin quite likely will steal your ideas and take the credit for them unfortunately.

  • who is this idiot ? bad mileage, bad tier use, bad stering , bad... where does he get his facts ? Just use flag > spam everybody

  • "Now that is a deep hole to be stuck in." lulz

  • "A hopeless place to be stuck at." lululululululuz

  • Wooo woooaaa watching this with no sound is incredibly boring, whats with your lame "technical drawings" you could of spent some time on the lame design too. Not critcising just making statements! and please dont reply with all your clever bullshit too!

  • Well the voice track is part of it, the Super Tweel clip does give you better visuals. One comment is as good as another, why do you try to tell other people what and what not to do?

  • Its a free world or so they say so its your decision to type your comments, you dont have to listen or read what is said, I dont try and tell people what to say its the way its said in the the first place.

  • are you on drugs? you speak way too slow.

the threads are not "collapsing" they are doing their exact job, absorbing the weight pressure of the car. They are bendable, not rigid.

  • At highway speeds the flexible spokes in the Michelin Tweel compress in snap action from straight, bearing load, to curved, bearing little load. Its adequately described as a fast succession of collapses, a pulsation that causes vibration and tread flutter. This affects the adhesion to the pavement, creating more roll resistance etc, Its pretty consistent in the available technical commentary, blogs about tests etc. incl. with Michelin who say their tweel so far is only fit for slow speed.

  • The Michelin Tweel design has only been designed for slow speeds so far the idea has been put out to the world and some clever fucker (probably Japanese) will come along and re-design the whole thing which will aloow you to reach high speeds.

  • @peterantonbecker If you didn't have the shock absorption of the flexible urethane you would start walking. While a solid rubber wheel with nearly no flex would be the most efficient and most durable but it would suck to drive.

  • faggots

  • Is this 'faggots' in the sense of

    - English meatball recipy

    - old measurement unit for cord wood

    - feeble minded description of male behaviour

    - metal working technique

    - old English X-mas tradition

    - reference to the English parliament of 1414

and how do these possibilities relate to automotive wheel ideas design ideas?

  • touché

  • I agree with the observation. As it turns out the tread band rigidity was prototype related, not a design problem. You will see when you take a look at the dynamic model simulations in the new Super Tweel clip with a different prototype.

The video response consists of one text page with details.

  • I do not agree with a rigid outer band. High speed strikes from rocks, pot holes and curbs that an otherwise ordinary pneumatic tire or Tweel could withstand, would dent and permanently damage your design. However, your criss cross lacing of connecting spokes is a good design. I do think though, that the tweel's 'sheet' like spokes may already be sufficient for lateral integrity.
