This was a horrible movie! Im crazy about both Hayden Christensen and Orlando Bloom and if I couldnt even sit through it for them then you KNOW it was a piece of shit! Although Orlando's character was adorable and his story was adorable but overall this movie was garbage. I do GET the point of the movie, it was just poorly written. I cant even blame the actors and maybe not even director cause what can they really do with a garbage script like that. It was also too many different stories.

it's not american version of love actually. it's more like, an american version of paris, je t'aime. i admit there are similarities to love actually to this movie; they both explore different aspects of love. but, they are def different. in 'new york, i love you', the characters aren't all interconnected and each story/segment are distinct.

@cocome123 I think it's also cause it's a series of short films, minimally interwoven. Everyone is used to the linear plot, single narrative, quite frankly predictable plot line. I guess it's a sort of postmodern film and people expect closure (which this film intended not to have, being fragments of life; or, the closure is not the traditional one, I have yet to make a conclusion.

It tries to evoke the same feelings as Paris Je T'aime, but fails relentlessly. I couldn't take New York I Love You seriously and that's a shame, but I guess it is what it is...

Movie was a huge letdown.

A few of the short films were very well done, but most of them were boring, dry, and just plain dull. They dont capture the spirit the trailer shows, it could have been so much better!

Shia's film was one of the weakest, even if he does well in it.

Its a shame this movie was so bad, I wanted to skip over half of it, but there are a few scene that are gems.

Mostly CRAP short films with 3 or 4 gems. Segment 5 (girl in wheelchair), 7 (Hotel room), 9 (the painter) and 10 (the old couple)

segment 5 had a nice little twist to it. and the rest mostly make you think.
