And refs jump in when one player says they are done, watch the HBO series 24/7 and you can hear the conversation between the players and refs as they fight. They will ask if they want to be done and if one says yes they jump in.

The announcer's name is Tom Grace and he was give a blow by blow account of the fight because he was announcing the game both on TV and radio within the Wilkes-Barre Scranton area. Even thou Bonvie was in a Hersey Bear's uniform you can see why the WBS Penguins fans love him so. Great sportsmanship by going over and shaking hands at the end.

I agree that was a great fight. But these days, especially in the NHL, it seems that the fights between the enforcers are kind of a sideshow. I liked back in the 70s when even the skill players got pissed enough to drop the gloves. Matter of fact, the one recent skill player fight that comes to mind is Vincent Lacavalier (Tampa Bay Lightning) vs. Jarome Iginla (Calgary Flames) during the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals. That was a good fight.
