I remember when I was a kid (1960's) when downtown Shamokin was still a bustling, busy place, especially on Friday nights. Last time I was in the area, it almost broke my heart to see it so empty and run-down. Who else out there remembers Newberrys,the Victoria, Woolworths, the Fashion Shop, Jupiters, and listening to Tom Kutza on WISL, especially at Christmas ?
You guys are the best. I love Shamokin. I used to spend a lot of time there. I miss it a lot.
