great downloads of a great compilation of ELP with the better videos and recordings....Thanks so much!!!!!!! I love progressive rock so much fusing almost every kind of music in a montage and tapestry of music....These guys were such innovators....Great to hear Tarkus as it is one of my favorites.....got that sci fi futuristic theme I love so well from them....Tarkus I heard was made in about a week...genius....All of it.....
They are brilliant musicians-Alas !that satan has them captive and has tricked them into making melodies for his honor-and beautiful talented melodies unmatched by any indeed -grew up on this band-J.S.Bach spins in his grave over these lyrics!
In riferimento: Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750) * Toccata (and Fugue) in F, BWV 540 * Prelude (and Fugue) in D minor, BWV 851.
Questi Signori - e non solo loro - mi hanno insegnato ad amare la Musica Colta Occidentale. Il progessive rock mi ha fatto capire che Béla Bartók è stato 100 volte più trasgressivo dei Rolling Stones. B-)
@Tarkus2040 No, that's some of the most clumsy lyrics ever made and makes me groan, not only is the rhyming absolutely horrible but it lacks sublety to the point of being a joke. It's embarrasing.
@Ekulioful ...sorry, dude (or dudette) ... you just don't get it. clumsy ? are u freaking kidding ? lacks subtlety ? you seriously slid right past their groove ... sorry you have issues that force your unfavorable response ...
@euell Lol dog, "You don't get it." is the worst argument to anything ever, give me a break. ELP consistently has some of the most ham-handed lyrics across all of prog, and that's saying something, the band was known for its theatricality, not its lyricism, stop idealising them you cornlord.
@Ekulioful ... not really an argument, actually (for which may i refer you to Monty Python?) ... i guess there's room for everybody's response, including clashes ... different people's consciousness are tuned differently ... one person's artistic stream-of-consciousness may be another's embarrassement or cornlordism. While i agree that overall they weren't lyrically fabulous, this song speaks to me in subtle ways ... not that i insist it must for others ... their musicality exhibits genius

What classical piece(s) is this song based off of? I'm pretty sure it's a Bach piece but I can't think of it.

Nice upload, but you should fix the title and description. The word is "Hymn", not "Hymm"...

Perhaps the most serious and threatning lyrics in all of progressive rock. These guys are musical heroes.
