Who is it at 0:46? I know that in the 60s I think there was someone who did tricks ahead of her time and didn't do well in competitions because of it. She had another gymnast to stand there like the coaches do today on the bars with a hairstyle like Vera Caslavska. Maybe it's who I'm thinking of.

Old bars moves and beam dismounts just blow my mind. The old bars just seem so comical to me. All the flopping around. And so many of the dismount on beam (and bars occasionally) were so simple you'd never get away with them in today's code of points. Gymnastics has changed so much.

This is wonderful! I LOVE all the "old" (relatively) footage of UB routines. Each side of my pelvis has little indentations from all belly-bashing we did (way) back then. I'm not sorry to see that has died out, but it does seem that we've lost the ability to use both bars as creatively.

@GravityPowerful soviet union was a union formed from 15 states,not a single state( i must mention here that you must not confund soviet union whit russia who was just a state of the 15) therefore the best nation in gymnastics was romania because won 3 olimpics(medals: 23 gold,15 silver,20 bronze) which is extraordinary considering that romania has 20 milion people versus soviet union-300 mil,usa-310mil,china-1,3 bilion people. so ROMANIA is a gymnastics factory. (sorry for my english)
