Though if you're making say, over $4m, why not be taxed at 90% over that $4m? Will that be a disincentive to make over $4m? It might if you're only making a few $ over it, but if you're making billions, you're still going to be making a lot of money. No one, I repeat, no one "needs" to be making that kind of money.

One thing to remember. Reagan raised taxes something like 8 times during his presidency and the economy boomed. Clinton raised taxes and the economy boomed. Bush lowered taxes and the economy tanked. This means that raising taxes isn't always a bad thing like RepubliCONS are trying to convince the population. They're playing to the wealthy for future donations. Having the right to discriminate based on race, sex, national origin, or religion in one state can affect business in another state. @hayden50 Half truth. I read that article in Newsweek. Clinton suggests cutting the rate to a more competitive rate and get rid of the a lot of the deductions and close the loopholes. He said doing so would make up the difference in tax cuts. This, of course, doesn't fly with RepubliCONS or their master Grover Norquist. They have to ask this guy for permission. Not only that, but Paul Ryan said he might be willing to close loopholes, but wanted to keep that as a bargaining chip for now.

No, this is great. I love working two jobs just to keep a roof over my head. I put myself through college and I'm paying off my student loans. I started my own buisness back in '07 but becuse of economic decline, no money to be made. I'm a liberal and work my ass off, I'm not looking for any handout. They don't put their kids in the military, they don't send their kids to public schools and they pay less taxes than at anytime since the early 1950's. Sad. Very sad. Top 1% pay has increased 600% since 1985 and the average worker pay has not increased at all with inflation figured in. Shouldn't the workers share in the spoils as well as the sacrifice? No shared sacrifice.

If the wealthy were taxed too much, they wouldn't be wealthy though. The fact that they continue to make more and more money is testament to the fact that they are on the lower end of their tax threshold. No one's saying "tax the rich until they're poor". What I and maybe others are proposing is increase their taxes, but still allow them to make more than middle class.
Someone taxed @ 90% of $1million is still making $100k. A family can live on $100k. Extreme example.

Though if you're making say, over $4m, why not be taxed at 90% over that $4m? Will that be a disincentive to make over $4m? It might if you're only making a few $ over it, but if you're making billions, you're still going to be making a lot of money. No one, I repeat, no one "needs" to be making that kind of money.

I'm an american citizen, and i can only speak to personal testimonies, but the last town hall we had in SA....we where all kind of pissed about the the taxes going down on rich people who seem to have a hard time hiring people.....I'm waiting for the day that liberals actually grow a back bone, and actually turn out to be the ones who "grab their guns". We actually do have right on our side. Whats keeping us?
