  • Grew up with this. Sad dave Hill has Cancer

  • A great song, much better than Alvin Lee ever performed it!

It can be found in a great live version on Slade's best live album Slade Alive!

I've been a fan from Slade since 1972. Still am!

  • Amazing video.

  • Fabulous video, well done putting the backdrop together. Slade Alive was the second LP I ever bought. Slayed? was the first. I still have them and love them now as I did when 12 years old. But never saw them live. Isn't YouTube wonderful?

  • live in a tv studio and how powerful are they, i never saw them live but i wished i had, great post thanks

  • I always wondered what guitar Dave Hill was playing. It looked like a Gibson SG but much bigger. I now realise Dave Hill is tiny.

  • In 1972 I was sat on the local churchyard wall, transistor radio turned way up, when take me bak ome came on, been hooked on this amazing band ever since.

  • I'm a Grandmother in my fifties and still listen to Slade.

I had their record in the 70's Slade Alive

    Great talent lasts for ever

  • That's the music of my childhood -) [:-}

  • Great piece of work Sladev.

Long live The Mighty Slade !!

  • Awsome!!!!!

What an amazing band, Absolute class.

    Keep On Rockin.

    Thanks sladev

  • No-one struts the stage like that cat in the orange - awesome!

  • Was 'In like a shot from my gun' on the same anthology?? That would be remarkably kick-ass to see as well!

  • oh my god! This is the sh*t!! Slade were real heavy when they wanted to be!!

  • I knew a boy who was my guitar peatcher that was a sosia of slade's guitar player!

  • great tune from the lads !! love noddy he's soo cool, dave hill's hair here is a bit of a pudding bowl!! but great guitar riffs nonethe less!!

  • slade alive !! one of the best ever albums i have in my collection p.s. i/m 53

  • @werneil

IT'S THEE BEST LIVE ALBUMS CAPTURE OF THE SLADE MAGIC =100%

    TOTAL CONNECT TO THEIR FANS!

    TIMELESS!

  • @werneil I could not agree more. Once in a while I break out the old "Slade Alive" and feel like 14 all over again.

  • @werneil I'm 58 ...still wack the headies on and crank it up! Slade Alive ... yeah

  • Slade are up there with all the greats, from someone who grew up in the seventies and witnessed some of the biggest rock bands about. These guys had it all, as someone mentioned they were humble, nice guys who enjoyed a laugh and could belt out a number like nobody else, brilliant.

  • Its been said Noddys voice is comparable to a chain-saw! No-one has or has had a more powerful voice in Rock than this lad from Walsall, West Midlands. And yet his ballad voice is excellent too. The most down-to-earth four men you could wish to meet.

  • sorry little richard please listen?

  • Yeh, he wasn`t bad either, Paul McCartney would agree with that, too!

  • My favorite album to blast at my asshole neighbors years ago..........Slade Live!

  • my favorite live album too, its pure power

  • the worlds funnest band

  • they arent pretty but they rock!!!! enough for me

  • !st - I was/am a huge Slade fan from Detroit. 2nd - Seen them 3 times. 3rd - Dave Hill is an absolute A-Hole. 4th - I remember when Hill was literally drowned out w/boos at Cobo Hall. 5th - Noddy Holder and Steve Mariott are the best voices in R&R. OK add A. Lee.

  • I know another "Hear me calling" not "here", played by "Ten Years After" wich is quite perfectly the same song.

  • Ouups, mis-spelled it (twice) :P

  • No worries Sladev, Slade were all about mis-spelling their sung-tytles, weren`t they!

  • @Sladev first band i ever seen ,newcastle city hall 73.. 74 ? probabably one of the best live bands i've ever seen. i heard the album slade alive before seeing these and its true this is a fantastic live album ...just play it loud !

  • @Vernuft yep ur right but i hear this one first so its my fave

  • Pete Townsend wears a white jump suit and everyone thinks its OK. And Dave Hill wears an orange one and you wonder what's wrong? The man above said it right: No one had more fun than Slade and they did it with their tongue firmly in cheek. Also, I believe the Slade Alive album is a double live. I just saw it in a store outside of Philly and I'm on my way. I've got the single live CD but I now need both. Hear me calling?

  • ... most stylish band ever ... great sound, greetz from berlin, Ed

  • I wanna know what the hell was with Dave Hill...and all the costumes...and the constant jumping around with every song...not that i dont love them...cause i do...i just wanna know what made him think to wear them...

  • Slade was the best of Glam Rock...they were totally outrageous and they did it tongue in cheek.....they had more fun than anyone.

  • Yeah true, i wasnt around at the time they were the whole best thing ever, thats why i look at these clips now and wander what the hell was wrong with them. But theyre awesome and i love them so much, they should be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, if theyre not there already :D

  • what a fantastic promo clip!

is there anyway that you can compile all these Slade clips onto a dvd? i wouldnt know how to :(

  • Dave Hills guitars a Gordon Smith.

Noddys playing a 60`s Custom Telecaster.

    Play it Loud

  • jimmy lea.. fuckin leg-end! great bass player!

  • YEAH!! anyone have a definitive european tv appearance list, i mean pre glam.. its my all time slade time.. and where the hell are all the demos.. this band keeps everything hidden eh! i dotn mean them ones out already, i mean more of in like a shot and rasputin etc.. someone must know something! hi nomis hi mark!! its yer wee buv lol..!! kor

  • fantastic...love it...cheers.

  • dave hills poetry in motion, where the hell did they find him? Brilliant!

  • Wait a minute, wait a minute. Some of those photos in the backdrop look later than the performance, Sladev did you add in those yourself????

  • Yes I did since it was a bit booring with only a blue background (since it was never originally broadcasted I guess that BeatClub didn't added any effects to it). It was meant to be only photos from around the same period (or earlier) as the performance but I had to use some later photos to.

  • Sladev, that's fantastic! You did a great job on adding those photos to the background. Great job on knowing exactly when and where to pan the pictures across. I loved it when it was first uploaded in it's original version with just the blue background, but this takes it into a whole 'nother realm!

  • @Sladev Good job though!

  • @Sladev how in the hell did you do that? nice job

  • @Sladev And bloody well done ,I might add. Nice to see people making an effort , instead of a lazy enlarged thumbnail of an album cover ;/

  • Since Slade were such a rocking live band, I like the way Beat Club chose to use photos of the band in concert for the backdrop. First time I've ever seen a Beat Club clip with that.

  • brill... not sure where you get these clips... wish i did..love to remaster the originals

  • de la putamare!

    gracias causa

  • Great Song and Clip, Thank You!

  • beautiful work!

    just love it.
