@kistajk This was done in Painter and in painter the colors blend automatically when on the same layer to mimic real media. There may be some brush settings you have to adjust though. Been a long long time since I used Painter so I can`t remember exactly
i want to know how you did that so great, wanna know what kind of method do you use. am a biginner and it migth be good if you could give some tips. i hope you will. thank you!!
@81morenazo sure. I`ve started doing more instructional vids now. If you`re interested please subscribe and if you have any specicific questions feel free to ask.
@nienawidzeloginu It`s been a long while since I put this up, but I think I just converted the layer with the paint on it to multiply and that brought the lines back.
@eligelius don`t know spanish but I`m guessing you`re saying it`s colors are rigid and It`s really disproportioned. Yes, absolutely. I did this a long time ago, and I did it quickly as a test to see if I could upload videos here. It`s not a serious piece and I never included it in my portfolio. If you want to see some newer stuff, check out my website
(if anyone can translate that to spanish I`ll give you a gold star)
@okamichamploo Haha, I don't need a gold star, I never comment nothing, but, if I can help...

I want to post some newer work in the next month or so, so look me up later to find some better stuff.
I don`t remember what the song was called, but I got it off the soundtrack for Samurai Champloo. Figured it would be fitting for my Okami Champloo post
im thinking about buying corel painter 11, and was wondering what version you were using in this video ?.. I dont have enough for photoshop and found gimp abit basic, but how do you find corel to work with? Nice painting also :)
@jaggedrocksk8 thanks. I used Painter X for this one and I found it to work quite well even with the low spec computer I was using at the time. If you`re looking for an inexpensive alternative however I`d recommend Sai
It`s a Japanese software but an English version may be available.
It works more or less like Painer but at a fraction of the price.
@anon6739 you might also want to try out illust Studio. It`s a Japanese program that combines a lot of the good stuff about Corel Painter with really great line editing tools I haven`t seen anywhere else (with the exception of Manga Studio by the same company)
I'm still petty new to Painter, but I tend to always use the least amount of brushes that I can. I think I used about three different acrylic brushes on this, one to establish colors and one to smudge and blend and maybe another one somewhere in between the two.
Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to get the whole smudging thing as well as layering colours to work in painting. I really wanna get into digital painting though. Any other tips for a beginner?
Well with Corel painter I find that the dry acrylic brush works well for smudging but if it's on an empty layer it will cause white to appear on the sides for some reason so you need to put the colors down with another brush first.
Otherwse if you use Photoshop, you can try turning on pen pressure in the brush options "other dynamics" and take off "shape dynamics" for times when you want to focus on smoothness or try adjusting opacity.
hola! me encantaria hacer una foto mia asi, queria saber si haces gracias

Hey at the exact beginning when you painted the face how did you make the sketch lines come back up? Still new to Corel got it yesterday :P
PutNameHere15 2 years ago
Asuming you can use layers in Corel.
1. Make sure 1st layer is invisible.
2. Sketch
3. Make new layer
4. Color
5. rearrange layer in the Layer list or whatever its called in Coral.
6. ???????????

do you always do the smudging with one brush or do you customise it every time?
