I love my 2009 2.5i so much. The AWD is unbelievably good in the snow and the manual transmission is real nice. I just wish the Harman Kardon subwoofer on the back deck hit lows better.

What year is your Legacy? I got a stuck 09 Impreza Sports group and I really like the sound even if it's stuck, seems not only the Impreza got a nice sound. :P Between, I like the dashboard!

I just got a new subaru, does yours make the faint sound under light throttle? (sorta like the accelerating sound but i'ts constant and quieter, under light throttle only. When you add more gas it disappears, or when you let go of the gas totally. I believe this happens when its between the 2k to 3k range and cruising at a constant speed with only light throttling.?

ive been reading up and removing that resonator can cause your MAF to read a shit ton of air coming through when there isnt that much passing it causing your engine to run omfg rich

I got same ride, but auto stick Pearl Blue. Just got Cobb AP @65,000 miles she shows no sign of slowing down. I'm running K and N Drop in Filter but am still deciding what to do with the exhaust. That sounds a bit loud inside the cabin but I know doing a Cat Back Borla will be much louder...lol.

I put a short ram injen intake on mine. Before hand it sounded just like your car. You would be so surprised how loud it gets with a short ram. between 4500 - 6000 RPM it real sounds like an exhaust, its pretty awesome, very clean sounding, makes the engine sound deeper and really adds quite a few extra horses as well as some torque. Lookin at 180 at the crank and about 170ish TQ. where before it was about 173HP and 166TQ , I think we have the same engine.. for the most part. Mines impreza 2.5i

i did the same mods but w/ some generic mufflers and it was too loud and backfired like crazy.

Nice! Dropping in an aftermarket filter and performing a "resonator-ectomy" was the first thing I did when I got my Legacy and damn it sounds so much better for it too! Yours sounds awesome!!!

I also have a 2.5i, with the drop in K&N filter and no resonator, and have to agree that the sound is awesome. Like you, I don't miss the extra power because the handling at speed is amazing! Once you get the car up to speed it is easy to stay up there as long as you see fit. Good vid!!

i was battling out with Impreza or Legacy 2.5i. If impreza had 6S Menu i woulda went with it but now tha new 2010 Legacy has it im all in. I Perfer 6S an alot of top of tha line Front wheel drive car has it. FF Layout sucks down here when it comes to snow+ Hills. Trust me both bro has Civic 04 an 07 models.

I just picked up an 07 2.5I 5spd MT last week. I absolutely love it! One thing I noticed is that I can not find any performance parts for the I all I see are once for the GT. Does any one have any suggestions where I can find anything? I'm looking to do a cat-back exhaust, cold air intake and maybe a ECU tuning.

How many miles are you at now, and how was it with car seats, I thought the back seat was small but I was concerned more with the size of the back doors so I don't bang my kids head when putting them in. Me? Zero. None. No mods. The previous owner though, he removed the resonator (part of the intake ducts) and installed a Kartboy short shifter.

Not driving like a maniac I get around 25mpg. Driving for fuel economy I get around 30mpg on highways. Strictly city driving will get you 18-20mpg.

thats pretty good. my '90 legacy 5-speed averaged between 25-28 with a fairly heavy foot (75-80 mph on the highway) but my current car, '94 lebaron gtc gets about 20ish with a gentle right foot. I miss my subie... :-(

test drove an 09 impreza today, so disappointed. Took a legacy 2.5i out for a spin. after less than a minute I loved it. Its no sports car, but it def has all the speed you're going to need. more luxury than a wrx or an sti, smooth ride.

It doesn't look slow at all to me. It looks like it has a nice torque band from the way it shoots up to 40. Sounds like my '90 Legacy, but much meaner.

Well, slow and fast are both very subjective words to me. Do I think my 2.5i is slow? Not really. Is it fast? Not at all haha. I take it for what it is. And it is a pleasure to drive. The handling, the sound, the force it takes to change the gear... All of these are things I love about it. And because it's not particularly fast, it's rather easy to drive it at the limit (which is fun).

so do i im not realy a fan of the impretza its just a bit over the top for drivin in ireland (it brings cops from far and wide too many boy racers have em )but the legacy is a far more sutle car the onle trouble with his is the sat nav still thinks he is in okinawa and there is a little box on the passenger side somethin to do with barrier free tolling that speaks japaneese when ya start pushin the buttons on it which i still find amusing
