Amazing voice. Purely gifted! I came across her from the song "In the Shadow of Life" song. I believe it was from the movie 300 that I learned about her since she was part of making music for that movie. Breathtaking vocals.
Well, hehe, may be it is too late, but, you can just download Real Player, then when u see the video, you will see a little box at the right side of the vid, click on it, and you will have the vid download in ur pc, then, once you have it, it has the option to convert it as an mp3 :D... I hope it help you at all :)

Hands down, she has one of the most beautiful goose bump inducing, hauntingly seductive female voice out there. She is truly a gift from the heavens above. I stumbled across this live stuff and am amazed. I heard her first on a Vas cd called Sunyata that I picked on a whim from the library cause it looked cool. It is once of my favorites to this day!
Niyaz & Azam will be rockin' in Paris as well !!! We got our tickets from Fnac in Belgium. Here's the confirmed setlist for 26 October 2009 : Iman Allahi Allah Molke Divan Beni beni Hunt In the shadow of life Sadrang Spring Arrives (from Elysium for the Brave CD of Azam) Ishq Dilruba Feraghi
This captivating singer's voice was recorded on the sound track of Children of Dune and was the voice singing "Inama Nushif" on that track. Used with the composer's permission I submit this video as a tribute to the Iranian people and for Ms. Ali's contribution to the arts, and culture and social justice.
Perhaps she did not know it at the time, but the words translated on my video capture I believe the feeling that she communicated for her people then and now.
has it occurred to any1 that she may have sang this song in a few different languages? I can understand this version as hindi but there is another persian version..etc..
sorry man, ummm..the oud-arabic(=can be morocan\iraqi\turkish\syrian...) the saz-baglama=turkish the tabla=can be indian\nepali\pakistani or even afghan, etc....
but sorry the singing aint persian bhai, its urdo i think(:
Baloch, Persians, and Kurds are essentially all the same in language, music, and culture. How they vary is similar to Italians, Portuguese, and Spaniards but with even more similarities than differences really.
Balochis actually have probably more in common with Persia of the past than the Kurds but I could be wrong.
yes you are right, balouch are more persian than indian, kurdesh are more turk/arab than persian, in music, kurds are more in style with persian and balouch are more indian style
Yes.. I have noticed this as well. The accent of Baloch is more retroflexive too so it sounds a little bit more like Hind languages but I'm sure it was different a long time ago before the ancient people of Baloch settled near the Indus valley.

I think you're referring to the Saz player, not the Oud.

Cute! The oud player's "concentrating" face makes him look like he's about to sneeze. :)
