  • Amazing voice. Purely gifted! I came across her from the song "In the Shadow of Life" song. I believe it was from the movie 300 that I learned about her since she was part of making music for that movie. Breathtaking vocals.

  • I think you're referring to the Saz player, not the Oud.

  • Cute! The oud player's "concentrating" face makes him look like he's about to sneeze. :)

  • Allahi Allah-Niyaz-Niyaz-2005 :)

  • Divine lady...

  • H partisi :)

  • my caaassonets !!!!

  • Hands down, she has one of the most beautiful goose bump inducing, hauntingly seductive female voice out there. She is truly a gift from the heavens above. I stumbled across this live stuff and am amazed. I heard her first on a Vas cd called Sunyata that I picked on a whim from the library cause it looked cool. It is once of my favorites to this day!

  • It's excellent.

    new fan from russia here

  • @aminosaur can't go wrong with any of her work. Have you had a chance to pick up any of the Niyaz albums yet? If not, definitely worth a listen IMHO.

  • What is the name of that instrument to the right sounds great

  • Bağlama and ud

  • "ud" on the right, "saz" on the left...

  • Do not get it?

  • Is she Paki Indi Irani ?

  • i think she is persian, the song is old folk song of pakistan and the language is Urdu!

  • does anyone know the name of this song?

  • super

    Dest xwes

  • This captivating singer's voice was recorded on the sound track of Children of Dune and was the voice singing "Inama Nushif" on that track. Used with the composer's permission I submit this video as a tribute to the Iranian people and for Ms. Ali's contribution to the arts, and culture and social justice.

Perhaps she did not know it at the time, but the words translated on my video capture I believe the feeling that she communicated for her people then and now.

  • The language is Urdu, spoken in Pakistan and parts of India.

  • has it occurred to any1 that she may have sang this song in a few different languages? I can understand this version as hindi but there is another persian version..etc..

  • Comment removed

  • :)) Guyz..This is farsi..not Hindi or Azari ..This is a famous Persian song ..It is not her song..she just re-sang it

  • Language is Azeri

  • oh dear , either u dont know what Azari is , or u dont know what Language is :))

  • @Mahshidr; it is urdo (hindi).

  • @Mahshidr im not sure but it seems pakistani or indian language. i am sure it's not Azeri, coz their langauge is kinda Turkish :)

  • The language is Hindi.

  • See them at the ICA in London on 23 June 2009

  • its soooooooo beautiful,

sorry man, ummm..the oud-arabic(=can be morocan\iraqi\turkish\syrian...) the saz-baglama=turkish the tabla=can be indian\nepali\pakistani or even afghan, etc....

  • What stage presence Azam and the band have. The music sends you into a trance and Azam's voice is from a dream.

A dream come true. Thank you

  • Yes Daniel, this is the largest province of Pakistan by area. Its capital is Quetta.

  • this is balochi music very close to persia(Iran) and language is Urdu

  • sorry my asking,Balochi is it related with Baluchistan, which also borders with south west Pakistan, close to Persia?

    Like to know pls!

    tks,

    daniel

  • Baloch, Persians, and Kurds are essentially all the same in language, music, and culture. How they vary is similar to Italians, Portuguese, and Spaniards but with even more similarities than differences really.

Balochis actually have probably more in common with Persia of the past than the Kurds but I could be wrong.

  • yes you are right, balouch are more persian than indian, kurdesh are more turk/arab than persian, in music, kurds are more in style with persian and balouch are more indian style

  • Yes.. I have noticed this as well. The accent of Baloch is more retroflexive too so it sounds a little bit more like Hind languages but I'm sure it was different a long time ago before the ancient people of Baloch settled near the Indus valley.

  • they are persian but this is not a persian song

  • Even though she has an excellent Persian accent , but Urdu is not so great. the best version of ALLAH chant was done by Pakistani singer Tahira Syed

  • I love the instrumental strumming, especially around 1:40, but it isnt in the song allahi allah. is it part of another song?

  • they probably just added it in there as a solo. improv, you know? :)

  • azam ali es un ángel, gracias por existir

  • It should be noted that the song is in Urdu, not persian... I love her performances though.

  • you mean farsi? persian is the race that speaks farsi

  • She is of Iranian desent and most of her songs are in Farsi. This happens to be a very old sufi folk song in Urdu.

  • The song name is "Allahi Allah" by Niyaz.

  • ahange dare pit
