@csx7509 I believe you; it was only January this year that I finally got a scanner, and I've been learning the symbols ever since. Of course, it doesn't help when the schedule gets all out of whack for one reason or another.
@FastFlyingVirginian lol well i have train recognizing skills so its kinda easy identifying trains without a scanner but it can be quite hard to tell some trains apart from the rest & this includes Section trains & trains with the "L" in it & whats with the "L" like CSX L173???
The college campus and storefronts do make a nice backdrop though. As soon as the weather cooperates I plan on shooting more around Ashcake Road and Gwathmey Church Road, which will take care of the lack of horns quite nicely. :)
Thanks...I don't know how I lived 30-40 minutes away since '98 and never got up to Ashland until ten years later. I'm kicking myself now for having missed all of the ex-CR SD60s when they invaded in the late 90s as lead power.
@FastFlyingVirginian I live about 8 miles from the CSX Abbeville Sub, and I have never been there. I always go to the NS Piedmont Division which is 12 miles away. And lastly, the CSX Gainesville Midland is 4 miles from my house on the road, 3 as the crow flies. And why have I not been there?!?
