Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't that a turbocharger? A supercharger is driven by a belt. That appeared to be exhaust-driven.

@TheRedbikemaster actually it is driven off the belt, it just happens to be very close to the exhaust manifold in this application. its a centrifugal supercharger, turbo-like intake housing and pulley where the exhaust housing would be.

@TheRedbikemaster haha ya no problem. ive taken every part internally and externally on these saturns so many times i can pretty much tell you what size wrench fits every bolt if you asked. it comes natural with these cars now lol.saturns are so simple

What are all of the parts you used to make the supercharger work good without throwing in forged internals? How much did it cost and how much time did it take to install the supercharger alone? I'm thinking of doing the same thing with a 3rd gen SOHC but want to keep boost low (around 5 psi) I know a lot of people say start with the DOHC, but I want to build something that much more unique. Thanks a lot. Awesome project and build btw.

it cost me about 10k doing a lot of custom work myself. ive seen the intercooler hid a little better but its a lot harder to do, but possible. not surf if you can keep the a/c stuff if done that way though. i put the intercooler in the front like that for max air flow. i like the coupe a little better as well but the 4 door weighs a tad less. bigger motor? the only way to go bigger is to bore out the factory 1.9. i believe you can only go like .40 over without doing sleeves.

love the idea but extreamly too much boost ran for the stock block.. tone down the compression and fine tune the boost.. or go direct injected and go 11:1 compression instead of standared 8:1

You got so much to learn, you have no chance drifting in a FWD car period. If you wanna be a succesful drifter. Get a RWD car with a welded differential.

OBX is kinda crappy but its one of the only headers for these cars. the only other one i can think of is pacesetter and they are a little better and a little cheaper.

why an sl2 and not a sc2? cheaper to get and they are a tad bit lighter.

haha its supercharged. ya im on 6s under the same name. ya mega tune for engine management and no you dont have to have obd2, it will work with 1 also. as for sound, you can do a pacesetter header and thermal research cat-back exhaust. its all bolt on, no welding involved. and if you want you could always go with a high-flow cat.

i got the head lights off ebay as a HID package. i think they are called black crystal HID headlights. they were like 200 bucks for the lights and a HID conversion kit. and ya the supercharger ran me like 2500 bucks haha. i have way to much invested in this damn thing. hoping to be pushing 600+whp after nitrous. thats with a 200 shot of direct port. should have this all finished in the next 3 months

20psi for now. the charger will push close to 35psi on this engine.

ya the stock rods are only good for 250whp so i guess when i pushed it to 275 it didnt like it very much haha!
