If you type in BBC News behind the scenes then there should be a video of him doing the 1 and 9 O'clock news. There are two of those videos, one of them starting with Terry Wogan introducing it and anohther that zooms in on Television Centre. The one zooming into Television Centre is the one I mean :)

Yes he did. In 1993 he moved to BBC North West then later he moved to BBC World before moving to BBC News 24

Yes, Thursday 1st October 1987. Philip Hayton was not the regular presenter at this time. I think it was Michael Buerk or Martyn Lewis.
