The argument against Barkley is that he has Woods and Lee to throw as Luck only having decent receivers. Well Luck has had the better running game and if you know anything about football it's that the run sets up the pass. Stanford's running attack makes things simple for Luck. SC's running is decent but its not as good as Stanford's. Please acknowledge Barkley as a legitimate Heisman contender despite all these arguments against him. He will keep proving you wrong.
It is just mind-blowing to me that a QB from USC could get Heisman trophy talk while USC is on probation ... and I LOVE IT! As a USC alum, it makes me happy to know that there has only been a slight drop-off during these probationary years.

Is what is funny is Richardson jumped on most heisman watch boards after running for 179 yards on Georgia Southern, not even a 1-A team. Barkley averages 260 yards against tuff Division 1 Competition. You can't hide that, and the NFL is going to see that.
Luck will win, and he deserves it (he has a better arm, better feet and mind... that's why they let him call some plays, which is something SC would never let barkley do). Luck's completion percentage is also 4% better, and has the same amount of yards and TD's as Barkley despite throwing 20% fewer passes (as Stanford is a run first squad). If Luck had Lee and Woods to throw to he'd have 4,500 yards by now

Now if you want to weigh in Luck's rushing stats, you might have a point since Barkley's rushing stats are pretty low.
Matt Barkley has managed to win in some of the most hostile environments in college football and won, for example: 2009 @ Ohio State as a true freshman, 2011 @ Oregon in quite simply his best performance of his USC career.

Also, if they give them the requested time out. SC has a chance to kick for the win in regulation.
