No, the pro at the front propels it forwards, making air go underneath the main blades at the top, making them spin, producing lift- like an autorotation on a real helicopter

also, have you ever seen those planes without the wingform on their wings? they rely on air to hit them so they can float on it, so does the gyrocopter

Ah yes, they dont use the suction effect of aerofoils, they just use simple deflection, much like a paper aeroplane. This one above- i think it was mainly for stabilization?
