I have never understood why stuff like this never catches on and yet people seem to flock to buy celine dion's next album! I mean I actually think a bit of early dion is ok, but you get people calling Susan Boyle 'the voice' and yet its not a patch on this! In fact for this sort of trance soprano pop styling and atmospheric mood I have never heard better than julee cruise and I can never understand why she wasn't bigger. David Lynch is so talented its almost scary sometimes!

I wonder if Lynch's perverse decision to put an impaled doll head with ants crawling out of it's mouth on the cover had something to do with the price? I suppose using a pretty woman to sell product would compromise his art. HAH!

This is magnificent. I stumbled across it a few days ago, because I just wanted to hear the song. I hadn't heard it in a long time.

The ending part that begins, "Do you remember our picnic lunch?" was entirely omitted from the music video version, and I think that's the best part of the song!

This is truly a special piece of video footage of Julee. You might recall the show she did around the same time on VH1 (before they became cooler to watch than MTV) performing "Up in Flames" and a full-on interview.
