The only reason why the game bombed was because of two things.

1) People bought the hype of what they thought they were getting, but it didnt really feel like the real Duke we came to know and love.

2) The people now adays only care about Call of Duty or Battlefield, not an awesome game like this.

I love this game, and the people with the shitty opinions, either are CoD fags, never played the game past the first 5 minutes of non-action stuff, or have no common sense what so ever.

u all are so caught up in the call of duty YA HOLD A M16 COMMANDO HERO BY URSELF WHO, forgot that this game the release one was made to commemorate the precursors of wat we have today and those were DOOM QUAKE and DUKE since most of those companies who made them died out... 3d realms made a last stand to just bring back wat it was like with better graphics...

IMO the 1998 Trailer showed alot of great footage and nice id_Tech 2 Engine STRAFE JUMPING! :D 2001 looks like the modified Engine from Half-Life (modified id_Tech 2 originaly) and the 2007 looks like noob Source Engine... DUKE NUKEM! <3 1998 ftw!

these look like they could have been 3 completely different duke nukem games. Its kinda sad that they were ment to be the same at one point or another. Because of there so called ultimate level of quality they feel they have to meat. I only heard about duke nukem forever from an episode of Xplay afew years ago & I was surprised to find it was in development since 1997.

Each trailer for their time showed promise for the game. The 2007 was a teaser but the leaked footage later on made the game look amazing.

What if comes back at E3? Huh, huh? Ha ha ha, hope so :) Looks fun. But remember that Team Fortress 2 was a phantom game but it still came out, then again, their studio didn't get shut down. Hopefully someone will pick it up. Always count on Duke.

the should have released it at 2001, I'm sure it would be a good game at this time. Maybe not the best, but good. But now it is really bad. They are still working with Unreal 1 Engine, but now are the times of unreal 3 and better engines... It would be a bad game with unreal 1 in 2009

The gameplay in the third trailer seems to have completely lost the whole feel and style of the Duke Nukem games.

The second trailer looks like the game as I imagine it should be.

I wonder if they have just ruined something that could have be totally amazing by making it a Gears of War a like boring game that takes itself way too seriously.

erm...go on the 3D site and it says 2009, and in a private interview they announced spring. My mate was lucky enough to be there...Doing a game development thingy in USA, and he got sent on a trip to see proper developers. (I wish, lol)

I'm not gonna judge the game based on the teaser yet. It didnt show any gameplay, only graphics. However it doesent mean that the game is all about graphics. It was a teaser so its not supposed to show much, just keep you waiting for the real trailer. That will probably show some gameplay stuff. So after full trailer I can judge the game, but not before.

Awesome video man. As for my opinnion I think I like the 2001 version the best. 2007 seems to be just about graphics, and I didn't see any of the charm from Duke Nukem that I come to expect in the 2007 teaser. 2001 had the perfect graphics (for the time) and the weapons, gore and small things like pinball just made it super awesome :P.

Yeah, 2001 was my favorite too. 1998 looked awesome as well. 2007... I liked it, but it looks too much like all the other modern, generic FPSs out there. Hell, the pigcop looks like a monster from Gears of War, and the EDF soldier looks like it'd be right at home in Quake 4. Still, I'm looking forward to it and I believe 3D Realms won't disappoint.
