you know. . . we've got Yoshinoya in the US. Well, in here in California we do. But we have Americanized beef or chicken with steamed cabbage and carrots over rice with teriyaki sauce. And thats pretty much it. I would give ANYTHING to have the choices you have over there. I try to eat as ethnically as I can to expand my horizons, but its hard to do when you're on a short lunch break. Even when you work in the "asian" part of town.

Japan and my home country, Norway, has got about the same prices on housing, food and clothing, but food for 280 yen (18 NOK) is impossible to find. A Big Mac menu is 100 NOK here. (1500 yen). But still, Norway's got the cheapest food in the world, if you see it in the same context as our salaries. We use on average 11% of our money on food, which is the lowest in the world

It's surprisingly easy to catch edits and vandalism, and they're corrected with literally just the push of a button.

Thanks for posting this. I first discovered Yoshinoya in Southern California when I was 17 years old. I worked at a Del Taco fast food place, but would eat Yoshinoya beef or teriyaki chicken bowl on my break. Even back then they had that red pickled ginger. Now, 30 years later, I'm living in Taiwan and I eat at Yoshinoya here. I even keep shichimi togarashi in my house as a staple seasoning (great on salad, eggs, whatever). BTW, I love your videos and always look forward to new ones.
