There's just something special about taking an NES cartridge, pushing it down, and getting a satisfying power button push or having to repeatedly blow into a Genesis game, putting it back into the system, and hoping to see the classic "Produced or Licensed by..." screen. Plus, emulation is never quite the same. As for the CD or 32X, they're not as bad as everyone says. Too many people think that two AC adapters ruin a console.

@Leishmaniasisably Hell yeah! It's the reason why I want an SNES (among other consoles) so badly. Sure, with emulators you can play any classic game for free, with the convenience of just one platform (laptop, PSP, iPhone, blah-blah-blah). However, you won't get to experience awesome cartridge artwork, sticky controller buttons, kicking ass on the 52 inch, and pressing reset because you think the A.I. is a cheating bastard.

@Leishmaniasisably my experience was the opposite. I never had to blow into a Sega Genesis cart. I always had to blow into the NES carts to get them to work. The NES gave me a lot of shit to play. The Sega Genesis was effortless. As for emulation, I agree that it's not as satisfying as having a real console but it's a great way to introduce younger people into retro gaming and it preserves all the great classics. It has its place.

I don't see how your hypothesis holds true; the power supply didn't make a console better than the rest of the consoles. The software of a console is what makes or breaks a hardware component, aka game console, aka video game system. In conclusion, this video was a waste of time in my honest opinion. There is also no point of comparing old and obsolete video-game consoles to newer consoles such as the XBox 360!!
