I have a relationship with the birth mother of 4 of our children from Haiti, the 5th was abandoned. After hiding under a bed holding her children in cite soleil while gunmen killed 2 men in her hut she decided to do whatever it took to get them out of there. I admire her as a woman & mother and to say we are "buying" babies is beyond ignorant of the process and the love. We have choosen to share the parenting of these children at much sacrafice (and joy) of our own and the birth mom's.
And we should not save them from lives like this because...? We provide food and resources for the birth parents and our orphanage provides jobs to over 200 Haitians......thus at least beginning the journey to help the people of the city. So, again, though I agree with your comments to a certain extent, please educate yourself before you make such ignorant, flippant comments.
Please do not be discouraged by some people's ignorant comment. You should not even give them the time of day by reply to them. They will not understand. This is a great axample why Haiti is in the state that it is right now. I will pray for you and just remember you are doing God's work. Ignore all comments from narrow headed persons. (^_^)
children are literally kicked out of their houses by their parents as young as 3 and forced to wander the streets because their parents do not want or cannot care for them. once on the streets, they eat what they can find from the garbage dumps that make up Cite Soliel, or are kidnapped and sold as slaves to their own people.

i am on staff with this orphanage and have seen first hand the children coming in - many brought in by siblings not much older than them because their parents have been killed. there is still much violence and war in haiti, especially in cite soliel,
all orphanages are not created equal. though i would agree with you that many are corrupt and that there is childselling that goes on throughout the world, that is not the case with this orphanage.
These children are not orphans..they have been bouth by the orphanages, only because the parents cannot feed them...then sold the the outside world, Stop the selling of children out of haiti. Every child deserves to be with there parents..not sold.
Stop selling haitian children to the usa..Why is the answer to proverty is selling the children to other countries? If a americans really had the heart they would help the parents, so they could feed there children....not put them up for sale..selling of children brings more money into haiti then cocaine..think about it !!
