It seems like each year chudan blocking drops lower and lower; if you look at karate in the 1930s chudan blocking was executed with the wrist at shoulder level, not with the tips of the fingers five inches below the shoulder. What are we blocking?

Clean, solid kata.  No excess motion. Dignified and powerful. You can tell the fellow is strong in kumite too. Teikyo seem to be running a terrific karate club.
