  • Hi! I wanted to agree with taking the prescription Ursodiol. My Surgeon just prescribed them to me at my Post op check up, Keep up the great work! It has been 5 weeks and I have only lost 34lbs as I can't get my protein in! But congrats so far and keep at it!

  • Hi Bracken! I am funmomma123's momma and I have enjoyed your videos. You have a great smile and disposition..I am sure that you are going to be a great help to many people through this experience. Not to mention the benefits you are going to reap yourself! Just know that you and the others are in my prayers. You all have made such a brave decision. Look forward to next weeks numbers..Hang in there!

  • I had the gastric bypass on July 9th and I have lost 31 pounds so far! Don't get discouraged, it is a journey. I also experienced my first case of dumping!

  • WOW....Great job. Have to admit that I agree with killallego. Your off to a great start especially since you have not been able to exercise because of the muscle pull. Keep it up.

  • Ok ok, so I need to be happy with it. Thanks for the encouragement.

  • What are you talking about????? 24 pounds in three weeks is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!! you'll get to the 30 lb. mark and then you'll pass it and it will be nothing but a memory when you reach the 100lb. mark.

  • Sounds like you are doing pretty good, at 3 weeks out the only meats I was doing was very tiny bites, super well chewed. Chicken can be very hard on your new stomach, I actually don't like chicken anymore because to eat it I have to chew it to a paste and its kind of nasty. For gallstones my surgeon has us take Ursodiol, its basically artificial bear bile, it is prudent to take it until you are loosing less than 10 pounds a month.

  • I think I'm going to have to agree with you on the chicken thing. I might cut it out for a while. Tuna fish seems to agree with me much better. Thanks for the tip on the Gallstones. I guess I will have to call my surgeon and ask to have something prescribed.

  • wow you and i certainly have similar things going on experience wise lol. I had my leftover chicken episode this week. EUH it was awful!!! Great numbers.

  • Watched your video. It's actally a bit scary. LOL.....anyhow. Have to agree that the whole throwing up thing was aughul. Hope it does not happen again to either one of us. Glad that your muscle pull is doing much better. I did not get the same pop as you, but today is my first day not wearing the binder. Sounds like we are both on our way. Best, Bracken

  • woo hoo! Great job!

  • Glad to hear every thing is going well. I just had my 2 week update with my surgeon today. He gave me a script for meds to prevent galstones. I have to take it for 6 months and then I'm done. He says it's not 100% but it will help a lot. I'll have to get the name of the stuff for you. Good Luck......Welcome to the "looser's bench"

  • They did not mention anything at my 2 week. I'm kind of dissapointed actually. Will have to call my surgeon. Thanks for letting me know. Bracken

  • my doctor's plan doesnt allow us to chew our food until 6 weeks. we have to blend our food up before we get to put it in our plate. unless it is a soft mushy food.

  • WOW....6 weeks. That's a long time. It's interesting to see how different surgeons have different plans. Hopefully they all work and we all get to healthy weights. Best, Bracken
