I'm having an issue with this program. When I put a compatible video file in the sound track, it plays just fine when I scroll back. I can hear it play backwards and it sounds weird like it should. But when I go to play it forward, it makes no noise. I've tried adjusting the volume, but it doesn't work. Please help.

@player313FA It is pretty simple to do. Go to effects editor on the clip you want to change the audio on and click on the audio tab. Make adjustments there. Or you can click on the audio part of a clip and add faeds to it. You can also separate the audio from the video and add a fade transition to the audio.

Why can't you just cut the video in the places you want slow motion and edit that?

@TMCASUS If you try to do it that way the video will not be aligned with the split clip before or after the clip you make slow. Try it and you'll see.

@anotherbeautylover It has a lot of effects. It is not professional but it is not for beginners. If you buy it you will need a lot of practice if you are not used to making videos already. If you are you should be okay learning it.

@thenerfwarriorz You can change the speed of a clip in WMM by adding a clip, clicking the "edit" tab, and then clicking the number next to speed. You can go as slow as .0125 times the original speed of the clip.

hey. i have got a problem when using avid studio and i cant find the solution on the internet.

The preview monitor only is constantly disapearing, it basicly only shows when i am playing the video. when i pause it disappears.

@cesarsobreiro There was a patch for Avid Studio a month ago. If you have not downloaded it go to the Avid website and do so (I don't remember where to find it). If that doesn't work contact custimer support and they will walk you through the fix.

@emmaleighsmemaleigh No problem. Because of Avid Studios extra features the learning curve is a little highr than Pinnacle so be patient. You should be familiar with most of the options and it is easier to navigate between files and effects.

I am considering getting avid studio and am in a trial. When I apply slow motion the clip goes black, it will play but I only get audio. When I render a video no matter what is in it or what format I render it in it only has audio and a black screen. Any ideas? Thanks

@emmaleighsmemaleigh Avid Studo has a media manager which does way more than what Pinnacle can do. you can correct and edit your media in the library or on the timeline with built-in media editing tools, can't do that with Pinnacle, Avid Studio has unlimited tracks for creating sophisticated picture-in-picture and multi-layer effects, Pinnacle doesn't .

@emmaleighsmemaleigh Avid Studio has all of avid's content packages (valued at over $2000), Pinnacle Studio Ultimate Collection has all of the Red Giant packages but not all of the Avid ones. Avid Studio comes with some basic how-to videos from Class on Demand. Pinnacle Studio doesn't.

Hi, wouldn't it be easier to just split the one clip at the start and finish point of the slow motion section, and apply the slow motion effect to that clip? Why have you done it this way?

@stuart5137 You can, but you have to strecth the clip back to full length in order to get all of the video clip. It is easier to stretch the clip if you delete the part at the end of where you want the slo-mo effect. Therefore I use two clips to make it easier to do. If I delete the back end of the clip, I will have a duplicate to replace it with.

Another nice job. Thanks. BTW in Pinnacle there was an otion to "match previous clip" which was an easier way to marry the 2 clips. How did you match your inserted clip to the previous and end clips?

@AuthorsBroadCast Thanks for the info. I'll have to look for that option in Avid Studio. To match the clips I just kept note of how many frames I had to move to get to the exact same spot paying special attention to where the subject was on each clip where I had to marry them together.
