have you noticed all these challenges are about posting shit on twitter or Facebook, so what if windows phone has a bunch of shortcuts for posting quick Facebook status updates, can it run heavy gpu/cpu apps like shadow-gun ? can it stream 1080p video flawlessly ? how many heavy apps can it load up with that puny RAM. now if your going post new statuses every 4-5 min then by all means go get it, but these windows phones have worst specs then my droid2 from 2 years ago
@chronDiggity My Windows Phone now a year old still runs at the same speed as it did when it came out of the box. I also have almost 200 Apps and games on it so its data is practically full.
@chronDiggity Of course I did. Speed went up a little bit but my phone has not slowed down since I got it. I am using the HTC Arrive if you were wondering. My phone zips past a lot of my friends phones when finding information. It is really nice when you're downtown and need directions quickly.
The leak, reported by blog Pocketnow and validated by Windows insider Paul Thurrott, shows that Apollo (the codename for Windows Phone 8) will be a major improvement over the current iteration, Windows Phone 7.5, otherwise known as Mango.
Id like to know 2 things: 1. Was he using a wifi spot compared to the competitors as lag would have been created by the network provider and given any phone an advantage using wifi 2. I would like to see an iPhone, android or whatever user with knowledge of all the shortcuts like the windows rep does as some competitors clearly know the true functionally of their phone With these 2 factors then I'd like to see the real challenge
I think you're missing the point. Regardless if you had, as you stated knowledgeable users(which I think all should've been, being CES), Ben was trying to let people, know it's not shortcuts or apps, like other OS, has to use to find out info or complete a task. Almost everything is integrated in the WP7 OS itself, cutting down the time it takes for any task.
What a crap phone.. you even use ZUNE to sync to your computer! Nokia, come on... I cannot have a normal usb mass storage phone! I must sync.. install software.. fuck you.. Android at least does all and with no software nags!
@eyfhsdksd hmmm i dont think its pathetic..... MS is just trying to prove how better windows phone is compared to ios and android, so if you lose this lil contest they give you a free windows phone. ....how the hell is that pathetic i would be freaking happy ;-) also FYI i own a windows phone 7 its freaking amazing
Lol it wasnt so much the android is that beat it... It was Verizon that pwned whatever he was using on his windows phone because he hit post before the Verizon guy did... ---- = Android fanboys shut down.
@bluefisch200 : ok you can pin 2 locations , can you pin a word document , a powerpoint document , a contact , a video , a submenu in an other application , all by keeping animations running like Windows Phone does ??!!
Great advertisement from Microsoft, pretty much showing that you don't really need the high tech and latest and greatest hardware to do everyday tasks at great speeds.
@tangoalphawhiskey keep in mind that the there are not many apps yet. But the OS is great. There is still a little work they have to do on it but I'm still happy with it, coming from an iPhone user. WP7 feels so light there is no lag at all like i had on my iPhones. You won't regret it.
Just proves that the Windows Phone guy know the Menus & Buttons on his phone ... Not a fair test at all ...

Microsoft if desperate, and its business of trying to prove all other platforms suck compared to wp7 is not professional in my opinion..
Apart from that, my android got 1 sec faster, unfortunately it is not stock firmware so I couldn't compete!
