  • Phenomenal! Do you do the machining yourself? It's beautiful.

  • If you change the timing of the second displacer, and remove the heat there, will it act as a cooler?

    Richard

  • ...........No. A Stirling engine as a cooler has to be purpose designed and none of my models deal with cryogenic Stirling theorys. Best let the big boy commercial intrests explore these types.

  • I think You should use 2 power pistons .

    More means less vibration

  • ........Not necessarily, not even as a technical consideration in this scale. Recipricating mass is overwhelmed by flywheel mass for smooth running. And the THREE engine has a small dia. flywheel in relation to overall model size.

  • I like your engine designs, but they're all so noisy.

  • That would be a condition of where taped. I video my models on my oak entertainment center which is essentualy a box open on one side. Models sit on top of a wood kitchen turntable. No attemp made to mask the camera microphone which is 2 feet from subject. With no backround noise or soundtrack ,everytime that piston comes down...........its like a knock on the door!

  • ...........There is no advantage in performance here. The efficiencys and principles of Stirling construction still apply. This models 3 cyl. format shows some versatility in configuration that I haven't seen presented by other modelers here on the "TUBE".

  • is there any advantage in performance over using a single displacer per cylinder?

  • VERY COOL

  • That is amazing. Incorporating a fan is a good idea too.

  • Thanks FM777. The fan is there for eye candy rather than functional cooling. It does draw air across the radiators though.
