no type of levels at all in sambo? i thought there was...hmmmm that sucks. i like belts. makes me feel i have achieved something and gives goals. especially for little guys who cant be mat champs against big boys.

Some Academies and Orgnizations have in house ranks.

UFRS Has 5 levels:

1)Student

2)Assitant Instructor

3)Affiliate Instructor

4)Full Instructor

5)Master Instructor

I'm a Full Instructor (level 4)

There are no belt ranks in Russian Sambo. I am a cert. instructor/coach though. Also a 4th degree blackbelt in Judo.

The technique actual works best when guys attack the leg (I call the BJJ way) when they are facing outside rather than inside (Sambo way).

Karo and Gokor are big fans of this move. Something very similar is in 'the heat's book that just came out. but the roll over part i saw at gokor's. but you are a sambo man arent you chris? nice work, man

Yeah I was taught this technique by my Sambo Instrutor Igor Yakimov about 8 or so years ago, and have been using ever since.
