When I lived the winter in the garage with my babies I would hear this on the radio. Sick, little food, cold. God it got cold. Just a small space heater to help keep the chill off. January in Michigan. Lost our home and the ex ran off with everything we owned. I still wonder how we got thru it. My babies never complained. We would listen to this song on this little portable radio in the long nights. Thank CC. Thank you for the beautiful misic that kept us going. Kept me going. Thank you.

I was so broke I couldnt afford to turn on the lights and gas so I used a lantern to light the place. I would sit in the open window smoking a cigarrette rocking back and foward contemplating suicide. This song and Iris by the Goo Goo Dolls help me through it.

I visited her at Hillcrest Center in PA, rather than Hillside Manor in the song but poignant nontheless. I lost my mother when this song was just released and this past holiday season we lost my sister. So it has been a very long December. I think this year will be better than the last.
