  • EXCELLENT tone and technique! Fantastic to hear a younger player shredding! Splawn sounds great too. What speakers are in your cab?

  • @heritage80elite Thanks so much for the comment. I really appreciate it! The speakers are Eminence-made Splawn Big Blocks (I think they are similar to G12H30 Heritage speakers...but it's been so long since I was in the gear obsession mode though that I might be wrong, haha). I'll have to get a new video up when I get back home, since this one is pretty old.

  • awesome man! great job!

  • What is splawn? I've never heard of em!

  • You play 80s style better than most guys I knew back in the 80s! Seeing a guy your age playing some classic stuff truly warms the heart. Splawn NAILS the sound I grew up on! Keep rockin'.

  • @shankflanker once again, thanks so much for the kind words. im glad you feel that way about my playing. i just wish i could find more guys willing to play this kind of stuff!

  • @shankflanker

    Hell yeah Man!

Great to see a young brother playing some great 80's metal riffs!

Keep up the great work Kid!

    Thanks for the great vid!

    Killer Tone and Playing.

I still have my 1985 KRAMER Focus 1000 from when I was 15. Will never get fid of it! My first real guitar I bought with my own money from working that summer of 85!

  • Damn ,...you are a hell of a player !!...great sound as well!

  • Sounds awesome! What brand tubes do you have in that Splawn?

  • @cobwebb15 Mullard EL34s, thanks!

  • Hey man you are awesome. Sweet tone too. You also have the only other flip flop blue 1K pointy I have ever seen (check out my vid if you want to see mine).

    Keep rocking!

  • @aaa628 hey thanks! the Focuses are awesome, especially for the money you can get them.

  • 0:54-1:05....what scale is that, sir? I need to learn this. Thanks.

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 I don't know what an appreggio is but he does play something similar called an arpeggio at 1:02...and the licks thereafter are plenty melodic enough to get a feel for what this amp can do when playing Emo

  • why does everybody do their youtube videos with tired blues scales?

  • @LittleEmoBoy001 What do you mean LittleEmoBoy?

  • What kind of scales do you Prefer LittleEmoBoy

  • maybe something melodic and some appreggios so i can see how it might sound for the kind of music i make.

  • Because people like Blues rock.

    Get over yourself :3

  • U can make it sing, I only have one thing to say try opening your fingers, played like youself, more closed hand like, but as I gotten faster it has difficult to master Eddys or Lynch style without the bar on a finger or 2. wish I could of, rip like yourself at that age. Dean

  • Dude you roasted my eyebrow hairs off and singed my manly chest hairs with those riffs. You dont have to be born in 1967. You just do like all the others before you and pick up the rock and make it your own. Carry it down the road a little farther until the next generation picks it up.

  • You Rock Young Man!!!!! Maybe the next Warren DeMartini, Eddie Van Halen????

    Sweet, and your my son's age....OMG...i'm old....lol

  • I hope so, just gotta find other people my age who like that stuff. Warren is one of my favorite players (so is Eddie). I wish I were born in 1967 though, then it could all happen!

  • Hey Im Sixteen and I play Ratt,Vh etc. and I have a focus 1000 too lol mines red tho wanna chill lol JK

  • OK, man, sounds like a plan haha, where are you going to college

  • Well i live in FL but im originally from NH so i was going to move back to New England and go to maybe like UNH or Berklee for their music Programs. Cause my Jazz ensemble teacher went to Berklee.

  • awsome this is the sound im looking for i just need to find a cheaper amp lol

    Suscribed

  • Damn kid! scheeenice!

  • Wow, nice licks and tone.

I can tell even at a fairly low level, that head is pushing alot of air and bass.

Great job on the recording too, no clipping!!

    Rockout

  • Thanks for the kind words. The Splawn does push some air! But it sounds great at lower volumes.

  • No I havent gotten one yet.. still on the list though !

  • Wonderful tone!!! wich speakers are you using in your 4x12 cab? Thanks

  • Thanks for watching, I'm using the Eminence-made Splawn Big Blocks, similar to the Celestion G12H30 Heritage

  • Thanks for responding my question! Do you think you can get a similar sound out of a 2x12 splawn cabinet, using the same speakers? Thanks

  • Yeah, I'm sure it would sound similar. I've got a 2x12 with a Big Block/Small Block 25 combo, and it sounds really good.

  • Splawn Distortion;"Will nail your balls to the wall!!!"

Great video man, awesome tone and great playing too.

    5 Stars here!

  • how do they play at low bedroom volumes

  • This volume is pretty low. But if I use a volume pedal in the loop, I can get it to sound pretty good at low volumes. I guess it depends on what you consider bedroom volume.

  • Nice tone... got tasty licks too.

  • thanks for the kind words!

  • Dude I recognize Queen is in love! Killer my brotha from another splawn mother! haha The focus isn't too bad. My buddy had a focus 300 and it was hot! I like how Kramers feel. My old 86 Baretta was rockin. But I sold it. the offer was too good to pass up!

  • Thanks! Yeah, the Focus was a steal for me. It plays pretty well, and the fact that it has an Original Floyd Rose and not some licensed one is really cool too.

  • Wow, I love those low chords. Is it Dokken? George Lynch? Your Kramer and Splawn sound great! I'm saving up for a Splawn Nitro. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for the comment! If you're taking about the stuff that starts at around :22, it's actually pretty much the main riff in Yngwie's "Queen in Love."

  • Thanks, I haven't heard Queen in love since 1992. It's a great song and you play it well. Please do more videos, I love the sound of the Kramer and Splawn.

  • Im assuming that amp is voiced for 80s metal ? sounds ideal for that genre of music , add one of george lynch`s esp guitars and you would be well set.

  • Yeah, it does the 80s hard rock sound really well, but it can also do some really great lower-gain Plexi tones (Humble Pie, Mountain, Hendrix, etc...)

  • That sounds amazing! All amps should sound that good.

  • Great tone!

which powertube are you put on Mullard or Tung sol?

  • Thank you! I'm using the Mullard EL34s. I haven't tried the Tung Sols yet.

  • Thanks for answer.

    I'm going to order QR!

    Of course with Mullard EL34s

  • You will not be disappointed! It is a great amp.

  • Nice tone Wade. Did you do the mods yourself?

  • Thanks! Yeah, I did all the mods myself. Check out my blog for a write-up and some pictures. The link is on the sidebar.
