I strongly disagree with Lieberman on two of those issues. I am much more moderate on the other two. Labor Unions do a lot of good, but I don't like how Union leaders use their dues to fund campaigns and ask for pay increases when the outside world realizes that their current levels of pay are sufficient. Keep in mind who that is coming from, my dad is a proud union member. I am skeptical of Free Trade. I want a more balanced flow of goods and want to punish businesses who outsource jobs.

That takes courage. As for John McCain, I am aware that he stood with Bush on 90% of issues, but he differed with him on several key issues. Furthermore, if you are indeed are a liberal Democrat, why do you hate Lieberman? He may be a hawk on foreign policy, but he is liberal at his core. He is pro-choice, a vocal environmentalist, very pro-labor union, and is strongly in favor of free trade. I don't understand why the Democrats hate him because he disagrees with them on 2 or 3 major issues. I strongly disagree with Lieberman on two of those issues. I am much more moderate on the other two. Labor Unions do a lot of good, but I don't like how Union leaders use their dues to fund campaigns and ask for pay increases when the outside world realizes that their current levels of pay are sufficient. Keep in mind who that is coming from, my dad is a proud union member. I am skeptical of Free Trade. I want a more balanced flow of goods and want to punish businesses who outsource jobs.

actually, the left and right both have the wrong idea about the effectiveness of the surge. what has cut down dramatically on the violence in iraq is 1st) the sectarian killings, which have cut deeply into the number of new insurgents who can be recruited, and 2nd) the 'reorganized' iraqi neighborhoods brought about by partisan killings. i see this covered on libertarian blogs, or the occasional site dedicated to middle eastern history but never by anyone else.
